I'd have to walk home, there is no other way.I stood up and walked to the exit door. I hope I'll stay safe on this walk home. I opened the door and started in the direction of my house, the sky had changed drastically since the last I was outside. The clouds had found their way here making it a bit dark in the middle of the day. As I walked I heard the distant sound of thunder, I hope it dosent rain, that would make me cold, wet, and vulnerable. I felt a cool breeze start to pick up, the weather is crazy. I wrapped my arms around my torso to keep the harsh wind from hitting my bare skin. I listened to the sound of a car rolling up next to me. I turned my head to see a window being rolled down.
"Need a ride." Mark pulled up in his car.
"I'm good." I turned back to face what was in front of me.
"You sure, 'cuz this car is pretty warm."
"I'm warm." I lied quickly, it was very cold compared to inside the building. I started feeling raindrops hit me lightly. I didn't care, I wasn't getting in his car. He continued to drive next to me.
"Looks like it's gonna rain." He said.
"I like the rain." I didn't stop walking as the rain started to fall harder. I was going to be soaking wet.
"Those high heels look uncomfortable."
"They aren't." I started to get cold, the water caught the wind making it feel freezing.
"You're shivering."
"It's a new dance craze." I continued to walk down the sidewalk.
"Y/n, get in the car."
"It's cherry."
"Hey I'm trying to be nice!"
"Good of you." He quickly stopped the car.
"Y/n I'm not being an dick for once! I'm trying to help you I want to keep you from freezing to death! If you're not going to get into the car I will get out and put you in it!" I turned my body to look at him, he looked serious.
"Fine," I sighed out. I walked around his car to open the passenger door. I looked at him and hesitated to get in but I did. I shut the door as I sat down then buckled up before we started moving again. I may feel embarrassment, hatred, and sadness but I wasn't about to be a huge bitch after what he just said. "Thank you." I mumbled under my breath at him. Maybe half a bitch because I don't know if I'd rather he heard that or not.
"Mhm." He breathed out, I couldn't tell if he was responding to me or just making noises. After that we sat in complete silence, because lucky for me he didn't want to talk. I looked out the window as the rain came down hard. I'm lucky Mark was here, I could've been walking through that. I don't hate rain, but it looks like it will flood. Mark took a right turn to a road I haven't seen before.
"My house is the other way." I turned to him.
"We're going to my house."
"What? Just bring me home."
"It's too flooded that way, Cherry." He said it just to annoy me.
"Alright I deserved that." I turned back facing the window, he had driven into a basic Suburban neighbourhood. The houses were huge, well compared to my tiny condo at least. A garage started opening and mark turned into it. He has a garage I bearly had a driveway, I don't even have a car. The garage closed then the engine went off, I looked over at Mark.
"Welcome." He smiled, this smile wasn't sarcastic, or mean, or a smirk, it was a real, 'funny', smile.
"Yeah."
"I told you you'd come here."
"Against my own will." I looked at him. There it was, that sarcastic smile that he almost always has. He turned around to leave the car, giving me the time to smile myself without his knowing.
"Com'on." He raised his eyebrows at me before shutting the door. I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out of the car. What would his house look like? I could imagine it now, poser posters, each room painted black, huge flat screen in every room, including the bathroom. He walked into his house leaving the door open. I walked past the front of his car towards the door.
"Woah." I looked into his house. It looked, very, fancy? Would that be the right word. I stood on a small mat that sat next to the door.
"What? Something wrong?"
"No," I closed the door behind me. "Um, just, not what I expected."
"Yeah? What did you expect?" He walked towards me.
"Uh, I don't know." He raised his eyebrow as to say, your lying but then didn't bring attention to it.
"Follow me."
"I'll get the floor wet." I looked down at his nice wooden floor, I didn't want to be responsible for ruining that.
"That's why you're following me." He turned away from me and continued walking. I quickly took my shoes off on the small mat and followed Mark on my bare feet. He started walking up a carpeted staircase I followed behind him, why was I following him?
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Getting you some dry clothes." He walked down the hallway into the door at the end. This house was huge, and I haven't heard his parents at all nor did I see their car.
"Hey, where are your parents?" I asked from down the hall.
"What are you? A trustworthy adult?" He yelled back from the room he went into.
"No, I'm a curious teenager." I yelled back. "Ass hole.." I mumbled under my breath.
"If you must know-" he paused as he walked out of the room with some clothes in his hands. "At their house."
"Hm?" I gave him a confused look. "You don't live with them?" The thunder sounded reminding me there was a storm outside.
"Why would we?"
"Because that's how it works, the kid lives with the parents."
"Y/n you have no idea what you're talking about," he threw the clothes into my arms. "So stop talking." I looked down at the clothes and sighed.
"Where's your bathroom?"
