I'm ready to do something.I started typing a phone number into my phone.
I was finally going to do something of use today.
I was hoping it'd make up for me not being strong enough when Nicky jumped. Or hoping it could even make me forget about it.
God damn today was a mess.
I'm going to make it better.
I can fix it.
I pressed call and put the phone up to my ear. As the phone rang I noticed my breath hanging in the cold night air. I didn't think it could get this cold in Colorado.
"Hello?" He finally answered.
"Mark?" I asked.
"Yeah who is this?"
"Mark it's Y/n, I need to see you right now." I sounded truely pathetic. "Can you come over?" I could only assume he was at his house. I hadn't seen him since he ran to get help this morning.
"Yeah, yeah sure, where are you?" He wasn't up to his usual 'follow Y/n' deal. Maybe seeing Nicky messed him up too.
"My house, do you remember where that is?" I asked.
"Yeah I do, I'll be right over."
"Thank you."
"Okay I'll talk to you in a bit." He uttered before hanging up.
I placed my phone in my pocket before pulling the hood over my head. I don't think I ever wore this old hoodie around Mark, as well as the backpack around my shoulders. I looked down the sidewalk as I stood still.
I watched for movement.
Any second now he was going to leave.
A light turned on and I could see Mark's silowet. I watched him leave his house and get into his car.
I guess waiting does have a use.
I smiled before looking down and walking forward. It was all falling into place.
Listening closely I could hear his car turn on. He was going to leave. I continued to walk casually down the sidewalk.
I hope he doesn't notice me.
The car started to get closer and quickly passed. My smile grew.
"Perfect." I continued to head down the sidewalk casually, just in case Mark could still see me through his rear view. Each step growing closer to his house.
As I stepped onto the pathway of his house, I pulled a warped bobby pin out of my pocket. I looked down at it as I reached Mark's front door. Carefully turning around I looked to see if anyone was watching, no one, everything was going smoothly.
I turned back to the door ready to try and unlock it. I grabbed the handle and turned it to see if he locked the door's handle in place or the lock that he added to the door. Quickly finding out he didn't even lock the door.
I shook my head in disappointment.
"Idiot." I laughed.
Walking into Mark's house I locked the door behind me, you can never be too safe.
"Okay," I sighed out. "I need to make this quick, he'll be at my place in 5 minutes or so, meaning he could be back in 10." I started to recite my plan out loud. "Find the money, get out." I nodded to myself. "Where could the money be?" I'll start with his room.
Sprinting towards the stairs I noticed something move on the other side of the couch.
Did Mark have a pet?
