"Not that."I stood still in shock. What the hell does that mean?
Did Mark shoot?
Did Mark get shot?
What if he's dead?
What if I never get to hear his sarcastic voice ever again?
What if he's suffering on the ground right now?
And what do I do? I'm trapped in a room, with no way out! I'm a sitting duck while this other guy has a handgun. I'm going to die. Mark is dead. My breathing was uneven and I couldn't fix it.
"Fuck." I kept mumbling under my breath. What do I do? What can I do? I looked around the room, hide? Yeah, because that worked out last time. What other fucking choice do I have?
I can just except it.
I am going to die someday anyway, why not just let that guy come in and shoot me?
No.
Nope, I'm just a teenager I still have a life to live. I am not dying today!
The doorknob jiggled.
"Shit." I mouthed.
Then a knock. Maybe he doesn't know I'm in here.
The door stopped moving, did he leave?
"You didn't jump out the window did you?"
"What the fuck Mark!" I quickly ran towards the door to open it with a smile. I've never been so happy to see Mark in my entire life, he was alive. Getting closer to the hallway I glance around, noticing someone behind Mark.
"Uh, Mark." I mumbled looking at the guy who broke in. Well, he was alive for a bit. My hand lifted to point at the man, making Mark turn nonchalantly.
"What?"
"You can't see the guy standing right behind you?" I whisper yelled.
"Oh right," Mark gave a low chuckle. "This is Felix." Felix waved at me. "He wasn't breaking in, he was just looking for me." I looked over Mark's shoulder seeing a light haired brunette.
"Wha- You're fi-? What happe-...Th-then why did I hear a gun shot?" I stopped being worried and started becoming pissed.
"It accidentally went off."
"How can it-..? God damn it Mark I was so fucking worried." I breathed out, placing my hands on my face.
"Awe, you do care." He laughed.
"Did." I pointed my finger in his face. "I DID care." I turned walking back to the bed. "Now I'm just gonna go to sleep, and forget any of this happened." I looked back at Mark and his friend. "Can you close the door?" I flopped onto my back sighing out. Hearing the click of the closing door. "This day just drags on doesn't it." I spoke to myself.
"I know what you mean." I lifted my head to see Mark standing by the closed door.
"No Mark, I want you on the other side of the door."
"Heh." He gave half a laugh. "I actually wanted to talk to you."
"If you must." I laid my head back down, I really can't take this much 'fun' in one night.
"About what you do for work."
"Stop right there." I sat up looking at Mark. "I don't want to talk about it."
"You might want to hear it." He shakes his head. "Just let me finish, you can't see the future."
"What?" I snapped, leaving a bitter face on him.
"We both know too much about each other."
"No doubt about that."
"Yeah," he looked straight at me. "So you stay quiet about what I do, and I'll do the same for you."
"Okay. I can do that." Mark walked up to me and held his hand out in front of him. Quickly I sat up and I reached out to shake it.
"Cool, good night Y/n." He turned back to the door.
"Night." I watched him leave the room, closing the door behind him. "Night." I mumbled.
Every once in awhile I would hear Mark's laughter. Keeping me curious of what they were talking about. Eventually I might just listen, they were loud enough to hear through the walls. Sleep seemed a bit more important currently.
Mark's P.O.V.
Felix sat on my bed waiting for me to join him.
"It's nice to see you Felix." I walked in, closing the door behind me
"Sorry to drop in on you so suddenly, you don't usually bring your girls here bro." He laughed.
"Yeah." I chuckled. Walking to my closet I searched for my mini fridge. "Want a beer?"
"Sure." He smiled. "What's new?" I grabbed two beers before walking back to my bed.
"She is." I laughed, handing him one.
"All the girls you do are." He laughed. "What did she move in? You trying to replace me that quickly?" He took a sip.
"Nah, she didn't move in. And it's not like usual."
"Yeah, you brought her to your house."
"No, there's something different about her." I gulped down some of my beer.
"That's stupid."
"It is, I know it is. It's just, weird."
"Weird how?" He asked before drinking some more.
"Like, she's not super different, she's just a girl. But I like her just a bit more than the others."
"Why's that?" I took another drink.
"She tries to pretend she doesn't like me."
"Yeah most people don't have to pretend." He laughed, I did too.
"Yeah, but with her it's just, more of a challenge."
"Isn't that a bad thing?" He gave a smile.
"Weirdly enough, no it isn't. The other ones have become boring." I drank.
"So what? You just have to try hard to get with her for a one night stand."
"I didn't say I had to try hard, I just said I had to try." I laughed.
"So what do you do until then?" Felix asked. "You just, don't get laid?"
"No, why would I stop doing that when everyone wants me."
"Good I thought you were 'saving yourself for her'." he laughed.
"Fuck that." I laughed with him.
"Since she's here, I'd assume you haven't gotten that far yet?"
"Yeah, she's stubborn but she'll come around." I took another drink.
"You never bring girls here, so I guesstimated." He smiled.
"Soon enough she'll be gone." I laughed.
