Reece sat in court, a grey suit fitting against his body, his hair styled perfectly and his beard trimmed. His sister had helped him get ready that morning for the trial. Reece had spent his time in hospital, recovering enough for him to go to prison before his trial, today.

Charlotte was sitting in front of him in her wheelchair, on the opposite side of the half wall. "I've tried talking to her all morning, Reece, she won't fucking budge."

Reece sighed, "mum is stubborn she won't change her mind, either way I'm going to prison Char."

Char sighed, "I need you though, if I'm stuck with mum I'll go crazy--if I even live for much longer, in my state I'll be dead in a week."

Reece frowned, leaning forward and kissing his sisters forehead, "I love you okay? I'll be here for you as long as I can."

Char nodded, "I love you Reece."

"I love you too Char."

Reece's lawyer, Sarah Jenners, tapped Reece's shoulder, "were starting." She said.

Reece nodded and turned around in his seat, standing when the judges door opened. "Please be seated." The judge said, an old man with grey hair with his big black cloak on. Reece sat down, adjusting his tie. "We're here to decide what should happen with Reece Dylan Grean, I'll start with the defence."

Reece watched as his lawyer stood up, straightening out her blazer, "I'd like to call Charlotte Grean to the stand, your honour."

Reece turned slightly, watching as one of his men from his close group, Oli, pushed Char's wheelchair towards the stand. He gave her a small smile as she passed, her returning it. Oli helped her sit at the stand, where she took her oath before Sarah took over.

Sarah approached the stand, smiling at Char, "would you say your brother is a good man?"

"Yes." Char said simply.

"May I ask what type of cancer you have?"

"Objection! Where's the relevance?" The other lawyer asked standing up.

"Be quiet Mr Taylor's, it's just begun." The judge said, looking back at Char and Sarah, "carry on miss."

Char smiled, "its stage four leukaemia." She said, glancing at Reece who sent her a reassuring smile.

"Your brother has paid for multiple treatments to help you, correct?" Sarah asked.

Char nodded, "yes he has, he's tried his damned best to keep me alive or help me get better and though it's not worked, I've appreciated his help and all the effort he put in. He loves me, he's my big brother, we'd do anything for each other."

"Would you say he would kill for you?"

"If the situation came to it and I was in danger, I guess so." Char said, "if he's ever hurt someone it's been in self defence or to keep me or someone he loves safe." She said, meaning Luke, Reece would do anything to keep Luke safe.
