A week after the news of Q's death, Luke had his plan in hand and he was ready to do what was bet for his daughter. Over the week he'd had an internal battle with himself with what he was doing, and as much as he loved Reece, he couldn't put his daughter through what Reece was involved in.

Luke stepped in to the living room where Reece was sat on the sofa watching something on the small TV they owned. Luke hesitated before he walked up behind the sofa and rested his hands on Reece's shoulders making his husband looked up and him and grin. "Hey." Reece grabbed Luke's hand softly, "you talking to me again?"

Luke smiled, "yeah." He leant down and kissed Reece's forehead. "Can you do me a favour?"

"Anything."

"Go in to the town and get me a pregnancy test?" Luke questioned, he needed to distract Reece.

His words had done exactly that as Reece shot up and out of his seat, going to grab his coat from beside the door, "sure, I'll be back soon." Reece slipped on his coat and shoes, then kissed Luke before he left the house in to the few inches of snow.

Luke blinked, then quickly moved to the bedroom where he grabbed a bag and threw in some clothes and a handful of bills of money. He then turned to the crib where baby Charlotte lay and wrapped her in one of her coats and a hat and blanket. Luke grabbed his own coat and shoes and was soon out of the front door.

Like saw Reece had taken the car, and started to walk through the forest behind the cabin towards the small town they lived near. As Luke was shuffling through the snow the sky opened up with brand new snow, so he held Charlotte closer to his body and looked down at his little girl--she was wide awake and looking around at the bright snow. "Baby, you'll be alright soon." Luke cooed softly, "we'll be gone soon."

Luke soon arrived at the small town and went down small side streets towards the bus station. As he arrived he checked the times and saw one would be there in half an hour to take them out of town. He glanced around and saw a small cafe connected to the bus station. He entered the coffee shop and sat down at the window, taking in a sigh as he put his bag down and set his daughter down in his lap, looking down at her sweet face. His hand raised to her soft cheek and caress her skin slowly. "I'm sorry baby girl, I'm so sorry." Luke whispered.

Reece's car pulled up outside of the cabin and he grabbed the bag containing the pregnancy test and some sweets, entering the cabin. He took off his coat and kicked off his snow covered shoes and looked around the small cabin, "Luke!" He called, stepping inside.

Luke wasn't anywhere in the living and kitchen area so he pushed opened the bedroom door, and his heart fell from his chest as he saw his daughter and husband were gone. "Oh god." Reece breathed, his mind going to the worse thing possible; they'd finally been caught up to and Luke and Charlotte were taken by the government.

Reece dropped the bag and put his shoes and coat back on, while looking around the living room. He wasn't a mess, if they'd been here they would have messed he place up, especially if Reece wasn't around. Reece gulped and stepped outside the front door, seeing footsteps go off to the right of the door and behind the house. Reece followed after the footprints, seeing they were a little bit smaller than his own. This had to be Luke's, and he was alone. Why had he left and taken Charlotte with him?

Reece followed the footprints until he reached the small town centre and towards the main road. Where. Where could Luke have gone?

Reece took ten minutes walking around the small town, ending up outside the bus station. If Luke were going to leave, it would have to be by the bus station, as there were no other means of transport.

Reece saw there were only one bus outside the station and someone was getting on to it. And then Reece recognised the dark blue coat and the bundle of blankets in his arms, "Luke!"

Blue eyes and blond hair were shown to him as Luke looked behind and their eyes met and Reece jogged over towards his family. Reece's hand grabbed at Luke's arm and tugged Luke off of the bus, "Luke what's wrong?" He asked, cupping his husbands face. "Baby, why?"

"Please, stop," Luke cried softly, trying to take a step away but Reece kept his grip tight.

Reece shook his head, "Luke, no." Reece's hands moved to Charlotte and he took his daughter off of Luke, the bag he was holding falling to the ground.

Luke's hands reached it to grab at Reece and his daughter, trying to take her back, "Reece please, give her back."

Reece held her close to his chest, "she's mine too."

Luke sobbed, wiping at his face, "you haven't changed I can't be around you, Char can't be around you, you'll end up hurting us both." Luke said desperately, grabbing a hold of Reece's arm.

"Luke I would never." Reece said, his lips grazing baby Char's head, "come home, it's not safe to be out like this."

Luke sobbed again, "let me go home, please."

"You are home." Reece said and took a step back when Luke tried to grab him again. "If you want to see your daughter you come back home. And if you call the police, I'm leaving with her." With that, Reece turned on his heel and began his walk back to the cabin.

Luke stood there hopelessly, his chest aching and his heart thudding. He couldn't just leave without Charlotte. He bent down and picked up the bag, following behind Reece back to the house at a slow rate and his feet dragged.

He'd been so close.

No one buy the bus driver had seen them, no one knew what was happening. Luke should have just screamed and hoped someone came to help them.

Reece got back to the cabin first, he went towards the fire and sat down on the floor against the fluffy rug. He looked down at baby Charlotte and frowned, "you're so cold." He touched her nose and sighed, starting to rub her arms and warm her up.

Reece heard the front door shut behind him and glance back, seeing Luke drop the bag he'd taken with him. "she could've frozen to death Luke what were you thinking?" Reece sighed. When Luke said nothing, Reece looked at Luke and frowned further, "we can get over this, I'm sorry about your friend but I had nothing to do with it. I've changed since then. I'm a dad now and I'm a husband, I've started over."

Luke stayed quiet and stared at the two of them, watching as Reece tried to warm up a softly crying Charlotte.

"I don't want to go back to when I had to cuff you to my side but I will if you're willing to kidnap my daughter." Reece told Luke roughly, yet sympathetically.

Luke looked down at his feet at those words before he left the living room and went straight to the bathroom. He climbed in to the shower and let his tears fall, feeling like his heart was going to explode in his chest at how overwhelmed he felt. His hands pulled his hair in frustration, he'd been so god damn close.

Reece, in the living room, pressed a kiss to Char's head, "I'm sorry about your daddy, he didn't mean to take you away, he loves us." He looked at her sweet face and smiled softly, "you're my number one priority, right next to your dad. I'll keep you both safe forever"
