Luke had been the one to get out of bed first and gotten Charlotte up and ready. They sat in the kitchen together in the early hours as Reece and Mason slept soundly. "So what do you like doing at school?" Luke asked.
"I like writing." Charlotte answered, eating her, surprisingly healthy, cereal—Luke made sure his kids were eating well. "I wanna write a book one day."
"What genre?"
"Genre?"
Luke smiled, "what theme? Love? Scary? Things like that." Luke said.
"I think love." She said, "but mix it up with another thing like scary or action."
"Action?" Luke smiled lazily at his daughter, "you should do a cool thing where there's an agent and they fall in love with this bad guy."
Charlotte screwed up her face, "no that sucks."
Luke laughed, "thanks."
"It does!" She exclaimed, "dad told me you always wanted to write too."
"I did, I do one day." Luke said with a shrug, "I don't have the time with you guys right now."
"You should one day then." She said, before lifting up her bowl and drinking the milk from it, Luke did the same thing. Luke took the bowls, then turned to Charlotte, "what do you wanna wear today honey?"
Luke approached her, picking her up and taking her back upstairs to her room. "A dress?" She asked, "I like the white one me and you picked out the other week."
"Then you can have that one, I can think of some cute shoes with that dress." Luke smiled. They went to her bedroom, Luke helping her get dressed and doing her hair before she went to brush her teeth. While Char cleaned up, Luke got some snacks for her ready and her bag, collecting her shoes from the front door.
"Dad." Charlotte called through the house, making Luke put her things down. Luke walked to the bottom of the stairs, seeing her at the top.
"What's up?" Luke asked.
"Can I give daddy a kiss goodbye?"
Luke smiled, "yes but be quick I wanna leave in a few minutes."
Charlotte nodded and walked towards her parents room, she opened the door seeing her dad still fast asleep in the bed. She walked round to his side and poked at his arm, she took a few tries until he woke up. He blinked his eyes awake, seeing his daughter there. "Hey baby." He said, his voice rough. He placed his hand on her side, "What's up buttercup?"
