There was only one rule. I could not leave the area of Crystal Lake. Jason never told me directly to stay in the area, but he made that quiet clear last time I got close to the edge of the camp. I was feeling adventurous and energetic, therefore I went for a run. As I got closer to the road that lead to the camp, I thought maybe I could walk along the roadside. Just a little ways off from the road, Jason appeared from seemed to be absolutely no where. He stood in front of me blocking my path to the road. He looked down at me with stern eyes that made me think something was wrong. "What?" I questioned. He looked to the road then back at me.  Something in his eyes told me he was scared. I looked deep into his eyes searching for an answer. Like a light switch had just been flipped on in a lifetime of darkness. "Oh! You can't go out there to protect me, can you?" He nodded to let me know that I was right. He walked next to me as I turned to walk away from the road. He laid his arm across my shoulders as we walked deeper into the woods. I took one last glance back at the road, and never looked back again.
