"Do you really think that there was a killer living in the woods?" Asked one of the girls. The counselors were all going to a part of the woods close to the cabins to camp outdoors for a little while. They were all gathered around a large campfire they had built. All of them sat around the fire talking to their friends. No one strayed very far from the fire's light range. Chickens. I sat atop a tree limb that was thinner than most branches I observed the people from. On the other hand, it did have a good view of the counselors without them being able to see me. I listened and watched them intently. "Maybe..." giggled another girl in response. Suddenly Mr. Anderson stood up. Everyone became silent as he spoke. "Boys, girls! May I have your attention, please. I forgot something back in my cabin, I need to go and get it. I trust that you are old enough and responsible enough to stay here and wait for me to get back. No one leaves by themselves, stay put, and stay safe. Am I understood?" He pronounced among them. They all nodded their heads in agreement. "Good. I'll be back in no time." He gathered a few thing to take with him and said his goodbyes. "Perfect." I thought. I grinned widely with anticipation. This was almost too perfect. If only mice wouldn't run from the cat, this wouldn't be so hard. I slowly stood to my feet, balancing my weight on the branch. I leaped branch to branch,  deeper back into the woods. I dropped down to the ground with ease, producing little noise. I walked to a small area I instructed Jason to for wait for me at. He stared at me intently, waiting for the news on the new comers. I smiled wickedly. "While the cat's away the mice shall play. The adult left for a little trip back to the cabins. It would be a shame if he somehow didn't make it back to the the boys and girls." I gestured knowingly. Jason nodded and headed towards the cabin area. I made my way silently back to the young victims of a new game. I watched and observed them from afar to make sure they didn't leave the area. It had been an extensive 15 minutes before a quiet scream was heard from the distance. No one seemed to notice at first which was a relief, but then David, as I had come to learn their names, stood up and hushed everyone. They all went dead silent, staring at him intently. "Did anyone else here that?" He asked looking around at them. I tensed up thinking he might go out to see what the noise was. "Hear what?" Answered Kelly. I was starting to panic. What was I going to do to keep them from straying? My mind began racing as I watched them. David then smiled and made his hands look like claws. "The sound of creepy crawlers lurking nearby,  waiting to take a bite out of you!" He teased in a strange voice. A few of them sighed as others rolled their eyes and made annoyed remarks. I sighed calming down. "Stupid boy," I thought. He sat back down laughing. I saw another boy stand up and begin to walk off. I watched for a moment. "Where do you think you're going, Ryan?" Harry called after him. He turned around a bit. "I'm going to use the bathroom." He stated a little nervous. Hmmm. Not something I'm very interested in seeing. They let him go after that. I thought nothing of him until I heard something dangerously familiar.
