S.T.A.R. LABS
Exiting a room Barry quickly changed into his normal clothes from his Flash suit in at least 3 seconds, perks of being the fastest man alive. He felt a buzz from his phone almost immediately after leaving the suit on the mannequin, he quickly pulled it out of his pocket and looked at the message.
>> Hey, get to the CCPD right now - Iris
"Hey Barry, you off?" Caitlin asked looking up from a computer screen.
Barry nodded still facing the text on his phone, he pulled his arms through his coat's sleeves and waved his phone, "It's Iris, she wants to meet at the CCPD."
"Okay, be careful." Caitlin smiled as Barry walked out of the room.
The speedster laughed behind her, "it's Iris, what's the worst it could be?" He remarked before speeding out, causing everything to blow off the desk. Caitlin cursed under her breath,
"I need some paperweights in here..."

PRESENT DAY
CENTAL CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT
Barry tapped his foot impatiently in the elevator, he had previously mashed the designated floor button into the wall. Not literally, of course. He was beginning to believe he'd broken the elevator, until a woman with a huge smile on her face and journal in hand appeared in front of him as the doors opened. She grabbed his forearm and pulled him into a bear hug.
"Woah..ho, Iris what's the occasion?" Barry laughed, smiling and hugging her back. Iris pulled back and stared at him like a kid with a secret, "You look like you just got the biggest scoop of a story ever...what's up?"
"Basically! Did you know they hired someone to be the Forensic's assistant?" Iris grinned jumping up and down, "I know you probably don't need help.. but it's a girl!'
Barry rolled his eyes, and began walking out of the elevator's entry way towards the stairs that led to his lab.
"So?"
"So? You need a girlfriend with your nerd capacity! And since she got the job of Forensic Assistant, she must have.. some sort of nerd in her," She took a breathe and paused, walking silently down the hall with Barry for a moment "and ever since I told you that I... didn't reciprocate... your feelings, you'd gotten awkwarder.."
Barry turned to Iris and chuckled, "so you think grabbing a random girl, who may or may not be a 'nerd', out of nowhere would be a good match for me?" He adjusted the book bag on his shoulder and began to walk towards his lab again, waiting for her response.
"Oh, no no. I've been scoping her out since she moved here. I think you'll be happy to know who she is..." she grinned like the Cheshire Cat as Barry reached his labs doors, turning to face her.
"Oh really?" He laughed and turned to look into the room. He was greeted with a girl clutching a bag, much like his. She was wearing a beanie, skinny jeans and a shirt that read 'E=MC Hammer' on it. She dark brown hair that reached to the nape of her neck as well as blue eyes, really blue eyes. Barry froze as he tried to process of all. He covered his mouth and tried to hold in a laugh, just pointing at the shirt.
She smiled, "Oh, hah. Yeah it's funny because E=MC squared is Einstein's formula-"
"-for kinetic energy, and MC Hammer: 'Can't touch this'" Barry finished wiping a fake tear away. He turned to Iris who looked genuinely concerned, she held up a finger as if to object to something,
"Yeah okay, don't hurt yourselves, nerds. You guys should get to introductionss, I gotta go." Iris turned to leave.
"You can't stay?" Barry raised an eyebrow as Iris made a peace sign before walking back down the hall, she called back;
"Nah I gotta go to Jitters."
Nodding, Barry made his way past the girl, slipped his bag off and placed it on his desk. He turned then turned to her ready to introduce himself,
"Oh, Samantha Atwell-"
"-Barry Allen"
They froze as they both cut each other off, Sam blinked a few times. Her hands were shaking as she gripped the bag tighter.
"A- Allen?"

Needless to say... stuttering means 1 of 2 thing, either they like the person. Or 2, they have a bad history with the person. DUN DUN DUUUUUN.
Also I loved that E=MC Hammer joke when I first heard it, many tears.
