In order to avoid Andy, Scarlett and I decided to go hunting, because I was starting to itch for some blood, and, by the way she practically attacked Andy, Scarlett was too.
I texted Jay on my new phone to meet us, and we ventured into Brooklyn.
It was early in the morning when we spotted a small bonfire going on in Tompkins Park near the centre of Brooklyn.
We walked down the sidewalk approaching the park.
"It's not bonfire season." Scarlett remarked. "So it's probably just a few bored teenagers trying to cause trouble." She turned around to wink at me.
Jay slung his arm around my shoulder. "There's three of us, and I don't know about you, but I'm pretty hungry."
"You only fed yesterday!" I raised my eyebrows, amused, as Jay smiled down at me.
Scarlett's laughter rang through the empty street. "Boys, eh?"
We had just reached the park gates and we could hear some laughter coming from the park. The gate was locked with a chain which Jay snapped in half so we could get in. I could smell the humans from here, and it was making me thristy.
As soon as we reached the bonfire we saw there were four boys, all in their late teens by their looks, standing around a bonfire which consisted of a few tires and some planks.
One of the boys turned around and, spotting us, shouted at us to get out. The other boys then turned around and tried their best to look menacing as they aproached us. I had to hold in a laugh and I glanced at Jay, who was on my left, who was smirking. Seeing me looking at him, Jay leaned down and whispered "Do you mind if I take two?"
I turned to see Scarlett who shrugged and nodded her agreement. I turned back to Jay "Greedy pig."
"What are you whispering about? Get the f*** out!"
"Aw, now, can't we stay? Please, pretty, pretty, please?" Jay laughed in an extremely sarcastic tone.
A boy with dyed blonde hair raced forward and was about to punch Jay before I grabbed his arm and snapped it back wards. It made a loud cracking sound as it was broken at the elbow. His arm was now at an odd angle. The boy's eyes widened enormously and he practically screamed his lungs out.
"Holy shit!" Another blonde haired boy, this time a natural colour, cried before turning on his heels to sprint away. Scarlett was infront of him in a split second, snapping his neck back to give her access to drink from his jugular vein.
And then there was two. They had seen me break the boys arm with ease. They had watched Scarlett practically teleport to the other side of the park in less than a second. They were standing, wide-eyed, in shock.
I took a step forward, which just happened to be on top of the boy with the broken arm on the ground, who was practically paralysed with agony. The others boys watched me in terror.
"Please-- Please" One of them stuttered, unable to string together a sentence. Jay was with him in seconds and pushed him to the ground. The boy cried out in pain. Jay stood on the boy's arms and crouched down to bite into his throat.
The other boy, in the meantime, had took the initiative to run away like his friend. I almost laughed.
I ran over to him. He was just metres from the gate.
"Wait up!" I laughed as I gribbed his shoulder to stop him running and he struggled to get out of my grasp, but couldn't. He must have realised that there was no way he could escape me because he stopped struggling.
"Are you a vampire?" He asked, his voice trembling. I turned him around and gribbed his dark brown hair as I gazed into his eyes. "Mmmm..." My mouth was beginning to water as my eyes zeroed in on the pulsing vein on his throat. "I prefer vampirette." I whispered and he let out a gargled scream as I bit into his throat.
After I'd drained the human, I dragged his body back to the bonfire and tossed him in. Scarlett had done the same and Jay was just finishing up with the other blondie. We tossed the other two bodies in and flew back to Harrison.
When we were back in the hotel room I got changed out of my skinny jeans and black sweater into some sweats and a tank top. Jay was in the bathroom so I walked into the living area were I saw Scarlett zipping up a duffle bag.
"What are you doing?" I asked her.
"Oh, I'm going to move into the hotel room next door. I've already bought it. It's getting pretty cramped in here." She nodded towards Jay who was emerging from the bathroom wearing only some light grey sweats.
I grinned. "I guess." It was a pretty good idea, but it mean't I was going to be alone with Jay a lot. The idea both excited me and made me nervous.
Scarlett finished packing and held up her key card. "So long, suckers!" She joked before she walked out, shutting the door behind her.
Jay broke the short moment of silence which followed by saying "Well, finally." and I started laughing. And once I started, I couldn't stop. Yep, I was definitely nervous. I always laughed uncontrollably when I was nervous. Why was I so nervous? Stop it, Violet.
I fell onto the couch, unable to stop laughing. Jay was grinning at me as he approached the couch. "C'mon, I know I'm hilarious, but that wasn't that funny." The smug jerk. Then, he leaned down and did the worst thing possible in this situation. He started to tickle me.
"Are you- DON'T- OH- STOP" I yelled out, thrashing about as he continued his torment with his fingers on my sides. "STOP IT! JAY! OH MY-"
Jay was now on top of my splayed out body on the sofa when he stopped tickling me and trailed his hands slowly up my sides, past my neck and into the soft hair at the back of my neck. He leaned down and kissed me, slowly, languidly. I raised my arms to his head and rested them at the nape of his neck, too, to pull him closer to me. Since we didn't need to stop to catch our breath, the kiss could go on, forever, it seemed. I was in dreamland. Still kissing me, Jay brought his hands down to my waist and lifted the hem of my white tank top up. I gasped when I felt his hands on the skin of my stomach, and he pushed his tongue into my mouth. My eyes opened in shock, but I closed them and melted into the kiss. All I could taste was Jay, and he tasted delicious. His hands started to move southward along my skin, up, over my ribs, until he reached the underwire of my bra. His fingers halted, hesistant. I took this opportunity to bring my hands down from his neck to his chest. I trailed my fingers down onto his toned six pack. This felt amazing. How long had we been doing this? How long had we been kissing, even? It felt like hours, but I wanted more. I wrapped my legs around Jay's waist, his hands went around to my back to hold me and he lifted me up carrying me into the bedroom where the fresh, white double bed sat. He lowered me down and I felt the soft sheets beneath me. We pulled away from the kiss momentarily. He looked me in the eyes to ask what I wanted and I simply gave a nod in response. Then he smashed his lips back down onto mine and I knew in that moment that I loved him.
