Scarlett's POV
After spending less than 10 minutes unpacking and then sitting around watching the tv for an hour, I was bored. If I was human, I'd be sleeping right now. In a way I almost missed sleep, because as vampires we had an eternal amount of time to entertain ourselves.
I was completely and utterly bored. Sighing, I jumped a foot into the air and started hovering. How come I got this gift, when Violet could fly? Jeez, it was so unfair. My gift was useless. Violet gets everything, she has this awesome flying gift, she has a boyfriend... I deserve that! Suddenly I felt a burning rage against Violet building up inside me.
Woah, Scarlett! Calm yourself. She's your best friend... But she's got everything you will never have... and it's all because of you! You made her into the person she is... She owes it all to you!
I frowned when I felt soft heat from under the soles of my feet. I looked down and saw the flicker of a flame beneath my feet. Shocked, I landed back on the ground. No- the carpet wasn't on fire, neither were my converse trainers. I lifted my foot up and saw that the soles of my new trainers were burnt right through.
I jumped back up and started hovering again. There was the heat. This time the fire was so much stronger, a raging inferno beneath my feet. The carpet was turning black beneath me. What the heck? What's happening to me?
Then I felt heat from my palms and I unclenched my fists to reveal fire. FIRE! I couldn't help but grin.
I spent a while experimenting, and ended up sending a fireball right through the door to the bathroom, leaving a giant hole in the door. Oops.
I was so excited. I rushed out of my hotel room and into Violet and Jays room, thankful I still had the key card.
"Violet! I can throw fire! Where are y-"
They weren't in the living area.
"Violet?" I called out.
I heared whispers from the bedroom so I yelled louder "VIOLET? JAY?"
The bedroom door was closed so I slowly opened it. Violet was sitting up on the bed with the white bed sheets wrapped around her body and she smiled sheepishly up at me as I stood in the doorway.
My eyes widened. Of course. Jay was just in his boxers. "Uh..." He was holding back a smirk.
"I get it now! I've seen too much!" I exclaimed before turning back and running into my hotel room, shutting the door behind me with a bang.
Violet's POV
Jay was laughing. He was actually standing there laughing like a maniac.
He noticed me sitting looking at him in shock. "What?"
"What do you mean 'what'? Ugh, Jay!"
"It's funny." Jay said as he walked over and crawled onto the bed beside me. He pressed his lips onto mine before moving to trail soft little kisses from the corner of my mouth, along my jaw amd down my neck before stopping at my collar bone. "It's funny."
There was something in his tone that told me it wasn't Scarlett walking in on us that was funny.
"It's funny," Jay whispered with his nose buried in the crook of my neck. "I think I love you."
I felt something tug in the heart that was so longer beating. I didn't know what to say. Jay remained still in place for a long time, as did I.
'Say you love him back. Hurry up. Do it. You know you love him, so just say it!' My concience screamed at me.
Instead I said something entirely stupid. "You think?"
Jay lifted his head to look at me,eyes wary, gauging my reaction. "I think I know I love you."
I brought my hands up to his face and pulled him close to my face before kissing him hard, crushing his lips against mine.
When we pulled back I said "I think I know I love you, too."
