"Go to sleep babe," I whispered after pulling the covers over Rose. Once we were back home she changed into some warm sweats and a new hoodie.
She closed her eyes for a brief second but then opened them as I started to fade away."Can you stay with me? Please, for tonight."
I hesitated but then finally agreed . I walked to then end of the bed and crawled behind her, between the wall and her back. Pulling her towards me I felt auttomatic warmth, and my stomache swarmed with butterflies. This is how I always imagined it, but I never thought it would actually happen. Never in my 17 years here on earth, but here I am. Sitting with my Angel.
"What's your name?" she asked, turning to face me.
"Ashton, Ashton Irwin," my words came out low and struggled, her eyes peered straight into mine, and it was amazing. They were mesmerizing, and I found myself day dreaming about them. Since I don't actually sleep. I don't need to sleep, but I can. I just choose not to, because I couldn't miss one minute of seeing her. She's my world you know? My everything. Many say that, but I'm serious. Without her I'm just a demon, a monsterous nothing with the powers to end the world in seconds, doesn't mean I ever would, but with her I'm something completely different. Something like a real person.
"That's a beautiful name," my breathing was harsh , and she was the cause. She inched closer to me, and snuggled into my chest. You know, like in the movies?"Beautiful, just like you." Allthough I couldn't see her face, I knew she was blushing. Yeah, just another 'power' I guess. I can feel the warth against my chest.
"Can you sing for me?" she asked. Her body didn't move at all, this was just lovely. Too bad it will end soon. I can't stay forever, she will wake up in the morning and think it was all a dream. The same as everytime she sees me. She never actually dreams, they actually happen. I just knock her out before the become too real.
"What makes you think I can sing?" I laughed and looked down at her. She peered up, with the most innocent look scetched across her face.
"Well.......you're an Angel, and Angles sing, right?"
An Angel? Far from it, but I can't ruin her perfect-picture of me. I did sing quite a bit back home, but it's been a while. Might as well try right? The worst case scenario I erase her memory, yeah. Why not?
"Ok, but it's been a while. So you'll have to work with me,"she smiled and placed her head back to my chest, regaining the warmth.
"We, we don't have to worry 'bout nothing
'Cause we got the fire, and we're burning one hell of a something
They, they gonna see us from outer space, outer space
Light it up, like we're the stars of the human race, human race
When the light's turning down, they don't know what they heard
Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world
We'll be raising our hands, shining up to the sky
'Cause we got the fire, fire, fire
Yeah we got the fire, fire, fire
And we gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
Gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We don't wanna leave, no. We just wanna be right now (right), r-r-right now
And what we see is everybody's on the floor acting crazy, getting loco 'til the lights out
Music's on, I'm waking up, we stop the vibe, and we bump it up
And it's over now, we got the love, there's no secret now, no secret now
When the light's turning down, they don't know what they heard
Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world
We'll be raising our hands, shining up to the sky
'Cause we got the fire, fire, fire
Yeah we got the fire, fire, fire
And we gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
Gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
When the light's turning down, they don't know what they heard
Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world
We gonna let it burn burn burn burn (burn burn)
Burn burn burn burn (burn burn)
We can light it up, up, up
So they can't put it out, out, out
We can light it up, up, up
So they can't put it out, out, out
We can light it up, up, up
So they can't put it out, out, out
We can light it up, up, up
So they can't put it out, out, out
When the light's turning down, they don't know what they heard
Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world
We'll be raising our hands, shining up to the sky
'Cause we got the fire, fire, fire
Yeah we got the fire, fire, fire
And we gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
Gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
When the light's turning down, they don't know what they heard
Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world
We'll be raising our hands, shining up to the sky
'Cause we got the fire, fire, fire
Yeah we got the fire, fire, fire
And we gonna let it burn"
"Where did you learn all of that?" she asked.
"I hear you singing it at your desk," I looked down at her and she was staring back up at me, with teary eyes. "It's your favorite song, is it not?"
She nodded her head and she started to cry into my shoulder. Did I hurt her?
"What's wrong?" I pulled her in close and rubbed her back.
"Nothing, it's just. You care,"
"Yeah, I do," I kissed the top
of her head, a tear falling down my face as well, and she was out.
