I woke up only to be greater by the sound of an annoying alarm. Groaning, I grabbed my phone and turned the obnoxious beeping off. I stretched my arms and legs the. Hopped out of bed. I wasn't exactly a morning person , and it was around 7a:m. I have an hour to get ready, most of it was spent writing and listening to music.

My toes were cold against the hard floor, the sound of something being scratched in the kitchen startling me. I put on a pair of socks, and slowly creeped into the kitchen.

Mother was on her knees, cleaning up why looked like a broken beer bottle. She was crying, and was still in her work clothes.

"Oh, hello Rose. Wanna help me?" she smiled, wiping more tears away.

It looks like dad did come home last night, but I seriously doubt he's here now. If he is, I'm leaving earlier than usual. I'll wait at the park for Conner, or go straight to school. As long as it's not here, I'm fine.

"Yeah, what happened?" I questioned, bending down and using a towel that was laid across the floor to sweep over to her.

"I have no idea. I came home about ten minutes ago and there was glass everywhere, your father is asleep in our bedroom. He threw up in the bathroom, it's going to take forever to clean up," silent tears fell as she explained. Her words got quieter and quieter, and her face started to get pale.

"It's ok mom , " I whispered, standing up. I needed to start getting ready and I had swept what I could into the dust pan.

I turned around, only to crash into something. Looking up I saw my dad, a blood stained scar going from his eye to his lip. He looked like a homeless drunk, he must've done something horrible to get something like that.

"Go to your room," he slurred, walking over to mom and grabbing her hips. "Us adults are going to speak."

He leaned is with a weird smirk and attempted to kiss her. She pushed him away", maybe not right now honey. You should get some sleep. She smile at him, looking innocent. I looked over at him, and the blood on his face started to become wet again. Other than the blood flooding down his face, he was turning bright red.

He wasn't happy, and I ran to my room. I didn't need to see this, and I don't want to be here. I grabbed a pair of dark denim jeans and a plain black long-sleeved shirt, then some socks. I threw them all in my backpack and ran to my bathroom. There, I brushed out my tangly hair and put it in a ponytail, then brushed my teeth. I was done within two or three minutes, so I grabbed my black Converse, and ran out the back door.

Before leaving, I heard crashes, and my Mother yelling. Like, a scream for help, but no one ever came. I know I couldn't , last time I tried to get between them to I got a scar. It's on the top of my right arm, a once deep gash from a broken vase is now a light red outline. So, instead of interferring and getting hurt, I stay back. It's not like me going to in to help will make a differnce, my Mom will still stay here, and my Father will still be an arrogant bastard.

Looking down at my phone I saw it was only 7:15, I still have 45 minutes until school even opens. The park has a bathroom, I'll just change in there and waste some time until school opens. The park wasn't very far away, maybe a 5 minute walk.

Once arriving at my usual late night getaway, I walked to the bathroom. It was dirty and small, but there was one open stall, the other two were being occupied. Luckily, the one open was the biggest one. Making it easier to change than the smaller ones that are probably less than half the size. Going into the stall I heard small whispers, but decided to not ease drop.

I slipped my arm through the thin black fabric, then throwing it over my head. I quickly jumped, yes jumped, into my jeans. Then I stuck my pajamas into my small backpack, stuffing them in as neatly as possible. My head was down as I walked out of the stall, trying to fix my bag that slung over my shoulder, the strap getting tangled around itself.
