Chapter 4

Zane's POV

  I shouldn't be worried about Jeydon. He has a boyfriend. His boyfriend can deal with him. What I just don't understand is why Jeydon cheated on me. He doesn't seem to be the guy to do that. I guess you should never judge a book by its cover. "Why'd you do it?"

 "What do you mean?"

 "Cheat on me? Did i not treat you right?"

 "It's complicated, Zane! Just let it go. It was in the past."

"I'm sorry." I say not wanting to argue anymore. It's pointless arguing with Jeydon. He'll just end up crying and I will feel bad for making him cry, It just gets on my nerves when I think about that night. He'd never want hurt me.

How could I be so stupid? I shouldn't had went over to Garret's. Maybe none of this would've happened if I never left the house. Maybe Jeydon was cheating on me just to get back at me. It explains a lot. My best friend tried to molest me while I was high. Jeydon must've been hurt. I understand now.But why would he choose Corbin? Why are they going out? I though Jeydon hated Corbin.

 "Hey ladies, I'm back." Audrey smirked.

"Very funny. I forgot to laugh." I say sticking up my middle finger.

 "It's funny because you're gay."

 "You're not funny because you're a bitch." I tell her and she glared at me

Jeydon got up from the chair and sighed. "Can I stay here for the night? I don't wanna go home." Audrey looked at me for help. I nodded my head.

"Yeah, you can have the guest room." she said and Jeydon smiled.

Why doesn't he want to go home? I should mind my own business. He can't be my concern. I need to move on. Jeydon alredy has. Maybe I could stay here. Make sure he's safe. He seemed pretty shaken up. I wonder what happened at his house.

 "Thank you so much." he gave her a hug and ran off up stairs.

 Audrey sat down on the couch next to me. "A few years ago, something happened to Jeydon. He wouldn't tell me. I've been trying to find out what it was. I think it has something to do with Corbin." She tells me and I shook my head.

 Why would Corbin be invloved with his past? That  doesn't make sense. Or does it? "Jeydon did say he was running from home. And his brother is at parctice and his dad is at work. He must've been with Corbin then. It only makes sense."

"But why doesn't he want to go home?" I ask.

 "I don't know. They use to play this game with each other. Jeydon never liked the game. He'd come over to my house just to not play the game."

 "What was it?"

 "Hide and seek."

  I remember when Jeydon called me that night. He was scared. I wonder what goes on in that game of hide and seek.

 "Something must be up. Jeydon and I haven't been such good friends but I can't stand to see someone get hurt. I think Corbin abuses Jeydon."

 "We have no proof of that."

 "Tonight. When he goes to sleep, you're going to check his body for scars. Then we'll know." she said and I shook my head.

 "I can't touch him. What if he wakes up? Then what? He'll think I'm im a pedophile or something." I tell her and she laughed.

 "Yes you do want to touch him. But you're just checking for scars or bruises. It's not like you're going to molest the boy. You better not do that." she scowled.

 "I would never do that to Jeydon. He never really let me touch him."

 Her jaw dropped. "Seriously? You two seemed too close. I thought."

 "No. He would always scream." Audrey gave me a terrified look. "Not like that! He'd scream in his sleep as well."

 I wonder what he's doing up there. I decided to go upstairs and heard crying in bathroom. I lightly knocked on it and heard sniffling. "Go away Audrey."

 "It's me Zane."

 "You too. Just let me cry!"

 "Why do you have to bne so stubborn? I want to help you."

 The door opened. He looked a mess. "I just want to sleep." He said.

 "Not yet. You need to eat." I tell him.

 After three hours, Jeydon finally fell alseep. I picked him up and walked up the stairs. I set him on the bed in the guest room and turned the lights off. I walked out of the room but was pushed back inside by Audrey. "Go check." she told me.

 "No."

 "Now!"

 I walked back to the bed and started to take his shoes off. He didn't stir. I then took his pants off and lifted his shirt up. He stirred. Crap. I need to do this slowly. He night wake up.

 I stared at him. I don't see any scars. Just a few bruises but he's a clumsy boy. I don't think Corbin ever touched him like that. He's too careful. Or did he touch Jeydon?

 "Don't hurt me!" Jeydon screamed. Then he kicked me in my face. I think he popped my jaw. I walked out of the room. Audrey looked at me.

 "He's clear. But I thnk he popped my jaw."

 Audrey stiffled a laugh and then the doorbell rang. I walked downstairs to open it but then Audrey stopped me and showed me Jeydon's cell phone. It had threatning text messages from Corbin. I buried his phone in my pocket and opened the door.

 "Where's Jeydon?" Corbin asked.

 "He's not here."

 "Don't give me that bullcrap. He's in this house. Now where is he?!"

 "Corbin, chill out. Jeydon isn't here. So don't come here and assume things." Audrey said frowning.

 Corbin growled and pushed his way into the house. "Hey man, you need to leave." I say putting my hand on his chest.

 "You have my boyfriend. I have the right to go looking for him and I know he's here."

 "This isn't your house. You don't have the right to be coming in uninvited."

 "Like I care. I'm taking Jeydon and we are both leaving."

 "I'm afraid you can't do that." I tell him and he ran up the stairs. The next thing you know Corbin is dragging Jeydon down the steps.

 Jeydon looked so scared. I shoved Corbin. He punched me in the face. "No fighting." Audrey yelled and Corbin picked Jeydon up and ran out of the house. So he's just going to run like a little bitch? Why wont he fight?

 I ran after him but he already got inside the car. Jeydon was banging on the window. Corbin sped off. Audrey slapped me in the face. "Why did you open the damn door?"

 "I'm sorry."

 "Well just don't stand there. Go after them!"

 "I can't do anything about it. Jeydon doesn't need me anymore." I say and walked back into the house. 

 "No, you will go after Jeydon! I want you to go after him."  she yelled. I sighed.

 "I can't have him."

 "But you can save him."

 Can I go after him? Who knows where they're going. Maybe this is all a dream and I'm fast alseep. That's all. When I wake up, Jeydon will be safe.

 But then it hit me.

 It's not a dream.

 Jeydon isn't safe.

 He isn't mine.
