(Reilly's POV)
"Where on earth have you been?!?" Mira asked curiously.
I stepped inside and quickly shut the door. The sweet smell of cookies was in the air and I licked my lips.
"Hello?"
"Oh sorry. Umm we started talking and it took me a while to get here." I lied. Half of it was the truth though.
"That explains why it was Midnight when you finally arrived. It was 10:20 when you left and 12:03 when you got here. I was starting to worry." She added with a hurt expression on her face.
"Aww, Mir I didn't mean to talk so long." I gave her my best puppy dog face look.
"Fine, but don't call me that." she pleaded.
"But Mir it's my nickname for you." I replied.
"Ugh whatever, you're just doing it to annoy me."
"Nah uh."I shook my head.
She let out a huge grin and hit me with a pillow she'd been holding.
"Pillow fight!!!" I yelled, and we began whacking each other with pillows.
We finally stopped when we heard a timer go off and her mom pulled a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies out of the oven. We ran over to the counter where she'd just set them down and dug in.
After we'd stuffed ourselves full with cookies and candy, we decided to watch a movie. We quickly decided on our favorite movie, She's the Man, starring Channing Tatum and put it in the DVD player. After about halfway through the movie we were already laughing our heads off. Once the movie was over it was about 2:00 in the morning, so we decided to head of to bed. We quickly changed into our Pjs, brushed our teeth, and pulled her mattress off her bed to sleep on. When we were finally situated we turned off the lights and fell into a deep sleep.
"Elaina, sweetie come downstairs, breakfast is ready!" my mom yelled.
I skipped down the stairs to the kitchen, and sat down in the closest chair to me.
" Since today is your birthday I made you you're favorite breakfast." she told me with a wide smile on her face.
She set the plate down right in front of me with my favorite breakfast. Chocolate chip pancakes, covered in maple syrup, topped with strawberries and whipped cream, with bacon on the side. I quickly grabbed my fork and was about to dig in when the fork was snatched from my hands. The plate was picked up and my huge grin faded. I looked up to see my dad holding my plate cutting up the pancake.
"You don't need all those sweets." he told me.
"Darling, it's her birthday and that's her birthday breakfast." my mom scolded him.
My dad reached over to my mom and slapped her.
"I didn't give you permission to talk!" he said angrily.
He turned around to face me and spoke.
"And YOU can go to school!" he yelled.
I could tell he'd been drinking and quickly decided not to argue against it. I ran upstairs to get my brother and we walked back downstairs together.
"I thought I told you to leave five minutes ago!" he yelled.
"Sorry, I had to get Travis, so he wouldn't miss the bus." I replied.
He summoned me over to him, and reluctantly, I came. Before I knew it I was shoved against the wall.
"I don't really care if you miss the bus!" he stated.
"The bus is coming." Travis said nervously.
I tried to squeeze out of my dads hold but he only tightened it.
"Not you."
"Just go Travis." I gave him a pleading look.
Once he was out of the door and on the bus, a tear started to roll down my cheek.
"No crying!"
Once I had started I couldn't stop. Another tear rolled down my face. Suddenly I felt something extremely painful in my gut, and then another one. They kept coming and I tried to ignore it, but he kept punching me. I felt another tear start to form and roll down my face. In a matter of seconds I was down on the ground bawling, with him kicking me.
"Please stop Henry." my mom tried to save me.
My dad just swung around and punched her, knocking her out.
"Noooooo!" I screamed.
I suddenly saw a fist swinging right at my face and-

I woke up panting with sweat all over my body. It was six am and I knew I wouldn't be able to go back to sleep. Every time I had them, my dreams kept getting more real. My dreams were usually about something that had already happened, and were usually never good, like this one. I was sweating like crazy so I decided to just take a shower.
When I got out I quickly got dressed and put my hair up in a ponytail. Mira was still asleep, so I decided to write her a note and go home.
Mira,
Thanks for letting me go with you last night I really enjoyed it. I just need to get out and clear my head right now, so I'll call you later. Oh and don't forget to bring me my candy tomorrow at school since my mom doesn't know we went trick or treating.;) Anyway, Love Ya💕

I set the note on her dresser where she always looks in the morning and left her sleeping in her room peacefully. Once I was outside I decided to go for a run while clearing my head. I was in the middle of the woods when I heard a branch snap behind me. I pulled out the one earphone that was in my ear just low enough for me to be able to hear the branch and turned around. Right behind me was a very beautiful black wolf. He was growling loudly at me while he looked me over. His expression softened for a minute and he ran behind a tree. I heard a crackling sound and a boy walked out with some Buffalo Jeans on and a Hollister t-shirt. He looked oddly familiar and I suddenly remembered who he was. Austin. My so called mate.
"What are you doing here?" he asked.
"I was just on a run." I replied.
"So was that umm, you know, you're werewolf form?" I asked.
"Yeah. Sorry about that." He chuckled.
Before I could reply I felt the worst pain I have ever felt, like all of my bones breaking. I fell to the ground and Austin was at my side in a matter of seconds. The pain was almost unbearable and I fell into a deep unconsciousness.
