Mayas POV

Josh left a couple of hours ago.

Jase is asleep and so are the other kids. Well, except for Maci.

I sit down on the couch and Maci sits next to me.

" Mommy?" She asks.

" Yeah?" I ask.

" I don't feel so well. I have a really bad feeling that somethings going to happen. I feel sick to my stomach." She says.

" What kind of feeling baby?" I ask.

" I don't know, just forget I said anything. " she says and curls up in a ball. Just then I hear Knocks at the door. It's family.

I let them in and then I go wake up the kids. I pick up Jase and sit down on the couch.

" Whose this little cutie?" Amy asks.

" Jase " I reply.

" This is Else. She's a day younger then Jase." Riley says.

" She's so cute. " I reply.

" where's Josh?" Corey asks.

" he's at work. He'll be home in about two hours." I reply.

"How do you like living in California?"  Heidi asks.

" It's amazing. We go to the beach on the weekends. We love it here and so does the kids. " I reply and smile.

" your doing an amazing job raising these kids. " Kermit says.

" Couldn't agree more" my mom says.

" thanks. " I reply and someone Knicks on the door.

I get up. I then see the police chef. He hands me a note and I close the door. I raise an eyebrow and sit down on the couch. I Hand Jase to Heidi. I then open it.

I'm sorry Mrs. Matthews, but Joshua Gabriel Matthews has died on the job due to a shootout.

I drop the paper and start crying.

I then start shaking.

" Can you guys give me a few minutes alone with Maci please?" I ask and grab the paper. They look at me weirdly and then go into the kitchen with the kids.

" Mommy, what's wrong? Why did the chef come here? What was in that note?" She asks.

" I'm so sorry baby girl. Daddy loved you very much. But, unfortunately he passed away today due to being shot. " I reply and she gasp. She screams and starts bawling. I grab her and pull her to my chest.

" Shhh, it's going to be alright baby. Daddy loves you and he died doing something he loved. You have every right to be upset and cry but, please don't tell Jessica. She's to young. If she asks, daddy went away okay?" I ask as more tears fall.

"Okay, but why did he have to go. Didn't he want to stay?" Maci asks.

" of course he did baby. But, God decided it was time to make him an angel. He's watching over us, he's smiling down at you right now. Make him proud baby." I reply and kiss her head. She then starts bawling again. I then start crying even harder.

" Go get your sister and brother please" I tell her and she nods. She, then comes back in with Jackson and Abbey. I Send Maci to the other room.

" Mom, what's wrong? " Jackson asks.

" Um, your father got shot today at work and unfortunately he didn't make it. He's dead now babies. " I reply and Abbey starts crying. Jackson, then lets a few tears fall.

I can tell Jackson's trying to stay strong for this sisters and I.

I hug them both and Abbey sniffles.

" You need to tell everyone else momma." She says.

" I know honey. Please go to the play room with your sibilings. " I say and she nods. She, gives me a kiss and runs to the play room with her brother.

Everyone then comes in.

" What's going on Maya?" Topanga asks.

" He's dead... He's gone.... He got shot on the job. He's never coming back!" I scream and start bawling again. I curl up in a ball and start rocking back and forth. I'm having a panic attack, just great. I hear people crying but, I don't care. He can't be dead. I don't want to believe it. Who would hurt him?

He was a son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He was a cousin and uncle. That one person took it all away.

Looks like I'm going back to New York with the kids.
