Seeing him cold and unmoved made me tear up. I couldn't breathe when I heard the news. I stared at his rising and falling chest. I know he might not survive. He is in an empty and dark world. He would never be there for me if he leaves our world. I could see the air coming from his nostrils as the room became blistering cold. My bare hands became frozen thinking about the accident. It played over again in my head. I couldn't stop the scenes. I came close and said in his ear
"I wanna fall inside your ghost and fill up every hole inside my mind. And I want everyone to know that I'm half soul divided." I stayed there besides him and went for his hand.
I saw there was a little gray around his nails and finger tips. I then said while I sat there and cried.
"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid." I kissed his hand and held it to my cheek and spoke more.
"We're going home." I then started to see the scenes again. Even thought I wasn't there I saw how the street light turned green on a cool winters night as there sat smooth slush in the road. I could see the large blackened city. I felt as if I were there. I felt the chill of the wind down my back as I thought about it more. Little bumps came upon my skin. I saw Josh hailing a cab, a beautifully plain taxi cab. He was there I could see the shadows of his hair and face through the back as the lights turned red signaling for the cars to stop. As the cab crept up the street a crash came and his cab was under a truck and then I awoke.
I saw the box he had for me. It had a small envelope that said for me to open. I then moved away from Josh covered his exposed arms. I went to grab it the box. I handled it softly and tried to open it. The glistening birch wood reminded me of his beautiful and full eyes. I saw someone picked the lock a little light revealed the spot where my fingernails had fought. Then I pushed it open more. Pushing up against the door. Then I sat up off the floor and found the breath I was searching for.
