"No! Please I beg you, please don't take him from me!"
I shook and I was woken by the terrifying screams coming from Josh. I looked over and he was rolling from side to side with tear stained cheeks. His nose was running and he was sweaty.
"Josh, it's going to be okay." I cooed as he started to calm down a little bit. He was breathing and then he screamed again.
"Please!" more tears followed. I didn't know what he was dreaming about but he was scared to death dreaming about whatever it was. I put a hand on his back after he rolled on his stomach and tried to sooth him again. "It's going to be fine baby." I rubbed his stomach as he sniffed and took small breaths. His breathing began to follow a perfect pattern and he fell asleep.
I didn't like when he had nightmares. I knew he didn't like when I had them either but we really never talked about them because it will bring the memory back.
I looked at the time on my phone and it was seven. I then looked over to the clothes I picked out for today and decided to get up. I already had shorts and a T on so I just had to get socks and my tennis shoes on. I needed time to think so I wanted to go for a run. I also remembered I haven't been running since I was playing basketball. Those were the good old days.
I headed out and stretched when I got out the door of the hotel building. My hips were especially killing me though. Last night was great. I loved how gentle Josh was with me at first and how satisfied I was just being in his company.
I began with a jog out of the parking lot. I started off slowly and I began to increase my speed as my legs were reminded of how fast they were actually able to run. My speed picked up more and more. I saw a cross walk that was at a stop but when I ran towards it, it turned to a go. I ran across the street and my body had to keep up with my legs. I didn't hurt at all; my lungs were as strong as they had been before.
I stopped a little while and began to breath steadily. I put my hands on my hips and tried to keep my breathing patterns steady. I paced a little and ended up slipping my phone out of my pocket and I looked at my phone. I saw Josh called. I didn't have my phone on ringer so I just might have blocked out the sound by the thudding of my pulse.
I dialed his number and called him back. After a couple rings he picked up.
"What's up Jish?" I asked while my breathing patterns haven't returned quite yet.
"We almost have to go. Where are you?" Josh asked
"I went for a run. I'll be back in time for us to go. What time is it anyway?" I asked as I began to walk back to the hotel.
"Almost eight." He said. 'Have I been running that long?' I asked myself.
"Careful on your way back. Okay?"
"Okay, I love you Josh." I said followed by a smirk.
"Love you too baby boy." I could hear a chuckle come from his mouth as he said my pet name. I hang up and began my journey back to the hotel.
I got back and it felt as if I were closer than I thought. I went in and saw his family leave.
"You guys going already?" I asked.
"Yeah. We have a flight to Florida. We are still on vacation Tyler." Laura smiled and chuckled. "We were here to meet our sons new lover." She gave a genuine smile. "Isn't that right?" she nodded to her husband. He nodded in agreement. "We'll see you soon son." She hugged me and I did too. They left and I got in the elevator. I made it to our room and forgot I didn't have my key. I knocked and waited for Josh to answer.
