I first saw her at the Coffee Cafe. I had rolled in with my wheelchair just as my nose was hit with a strong scent of caffeine. My brown spiky hair was pulled back from all the wind. I brushed some dust off my blue jeans. A little chime bell rang just above my head as I struggled to get the door open. She came up to me and pushed the door before me. I stared. Her hands were tanned as I watched her close the door behind my chair. Her auburn hair was tied into a messy bun. Her olive colored eyes warmed my already melting mocha eyes as she led me to a table.
"Welcome to the Coffee Cafe! My name is Kassie and I'll be your server today! What can I get for you sir?" She asked.
I continued to stare at her. "Excuse me sir, your order?" She said.
"Oh sorry..." I mumble while shaking my head. "I'll take my usual..."
"Um, not to bother you but, I'm kinda new here so...not familiar with orders."
I snapped out of my thoughts, realizing I hadn't seen her here before. "If you want sir, I could give you my favorite which is a special order in fact..." she continues. "Mocha Latte with coconut sprinkles, a pinch of almond crumble-." My eyes widen. "Topped off with finely whipped double whipped cream." I finish for her.
"How did you..." she wonders aloud.
"It's my usual," I reply. "I thought I was the only one who ordered that!"
She laughs. Her smile reminds me of an angel. "Well isn't that a coincidence!"
I smile up at her. Little roses erupted on her cheeks as she tuckes a lock of her hair behind her ear.
I finish up my drink before saying bye to Kassie then warmheartedly wheeling myself off the curb.
Through the Coffee Cafe window, I glimpse Kassie in her messy bun and stained apron just as the little chime bell finishes ringing my depart.
