The Miles Between Us

Claire's Perspective

I open the box and tiny blue piece of paper falls into my lap. I grab the paper, open it and it says:

"I'm going to do what I should

had done some days ago.

I'm sorry and I love you."

Suddenly Braden stands up and walks toward me. When he is by my side, he starts talking.

Braden: This past few weeks I've been a fool. – With this he snaps everyone's attention- I should have said it since it started but I was too afraid to speak up.

I love Claire.

*He turns and looks into my eyes*

Braden: I love you. I was just afraid to tell you. I made a mistake, a huge mistake, but I hope that you'll forgive me. And I want to ask you properly and in front of everyone:

Claire, will you be my girlfriend?

Claire: Of course I will be your girlfriend. That's all I ever wanted. Also I'm sorry for giving you an ultimatum. That was wrong.

*Whispering to Braden* Now it' the time of truth

Claire: Mom, Dad, Mr. and Mrs. Steven what do you think or feel about us dating?

Mom: It's fine. We approve it.

Mrs. Steven: Yeah, we kind of knew it.

Mr. Steven: Yes, we were just waiting for you two to tell us.

Dad: We are happy that you're together.

Braden: Wait, you knew about it? How?

Mrs. Steven: It was obvious, how you treated each other...

Mom: And the way you look at each other.

Mr. Steven: We just knew. Were old but we also were teenagers...

Dad: That and that your brothers saw you two kissing the other night!

We all start laughing. I can't believe they knew. I'm glad everything worked out right.
