Picture of Vlad (Kat's brother/Husband)
They say that actions speak louder than words.
A handsome man with hair as dark as midnight and as straight as an arrow-and eyes as red as hot boiling lava sneakily walked behind a beautiful woman-reading what looked to be a map in what looked to be a tent.
The man wrapped his arms around the woman's waist-making her pause in inspecting the map, her breath hitched in fear. The man didn't notice the way her breath hitched or the way her supernatural heart sped fast in fear, or the way she protectively wrapped her arms around her stomach-guarding her unborn child.
The man didn't pay attention to these fickle matters. He was possessed by the knowledge that he, Vlad the Impaler, was one step closer to purging the world of the powers greater than himself.
Well, my husband's-no, my brother's actions spoke louder than his words of love.
The man-Vlad, took a deep breathe of his beloved's scent and sighed in bliss."How is my child My Beloved?"
His love for me.
Those sweet words that once made her quiver in lust, now made her tremble in fear.
She knew.
By god she knew what he did everyday, who he had slain, and just how many innocence's he had drain.
She knew the vast number no f people, whose blood stained his hands, the ever growing amount.
She knew that he didn't travel to Bucharest, for a pathway to the new world-which they had agreed to do, to keep their child safe. Instead he would travel to remote villages and slay the people peacefully residing there.
Just because he could. Because it struck fear in every living being, that's why.
The woman gulped, she tried so desperately to escape-but Vlad had always unknowingly caught her in the act."Our child is just fine. Kicking a bit more than usual, but other than that, everything is fine."
"Good.......good......" Silence ensued and The Woman's heat sped even more. There was news, he never stayed with her-not anymore, not since......he killed their family. Something was wrong, he was stalling for something-he was planning something.
He killed millions-took down a country in an hour, all for sport, in the name of an innocent child.
My baby. He killed supposedly in the name of my unborn child.
Sometimes, she wondered why she had fallen in love with him, why she allowed herself to be trapped within these palace walls that held nothing but heart break.
And then she would be reminded.
Whenever her baby kicked, whenever her husband would hug her close-hands on her belly, smiling, laughing, and making love to her-she would be reminded.
Reminded of the soft kind man that her husband was-and still is, yet hidden to the world, only seen by her and her unborn baby.
She would be reminded of the man that he used to be before they fell in love, before they became beasts, before he lost his way.
And with that reminder, she in turn would once again be reminded of her hope.
Her hope that he would come back to her, that he would convert back to the way he once was.
Reality Hits.
Then the truth slaps her in the face and for the last time she was reminded that he would never change-yet the cycle still continues, her hope never dies, but her heart and soul does.
She cleared her throat, "What is it that you need? You never stay this long, unless you need to be relieved or you wish to feel your heir kick."
His grip tightened a bit, he was mindful of her barely swollen stomach, her stomach barely swelled with his child inside,"Would you believe me if I said I wish to hold you and nothing more?"
My heart broke with the realization.
Kat sighed and unwrapped her husband's arms from her waist,"No, I wouldn't believe you." She said, and she walked away from him, he didn't walk after her, just blankly stared after her. She paused at the door, and looked over her shoulder at him,"You say you love me, but we both know that you're lying. You just used me all these years to ensure that you had absolute power." She blankly stared him down in the eyes,"You've never loved me, you can't love."
"And why can't I love my dear?" Her husband asked venomously, his eyes boring a hole in her soul.
Kat narrowed her own eyes-the eyes given to her by their father, and she said so softly, yet in a tone coated in the darkest of intent and the deadliest of poisons, "You can't love because you are a beast in human form-a monster. Beasts don't know the meaning or value of love for their black hearts can't tell the difference between the pureness of love and the darkness of greed, lust, and possession. "
I was never his equal, I was never his love. His love was the empire he forged from fear and cruelty.
And my baby, my baby boy-my most prized miracle, he was going to be a pawn in his own father's sick game of keeping his empire a float.
A game, that is still being played to this day, but with different pawns.
The pawns of Cross Academy......
Fate cannot be altered.
