21. Humanity's End (Pt.2)

Okay this chapter should probably clear up any confusion with the Ancestress and how she fits in with the Tepes bloodline. FYI Kat IS the Ancestress,but the tale will have a twist to it.

"What?" Ekaterina was confused. How could he have waited centuries for her...if he was still alive?He must have been a pile of bones ,hundreds of years old. Unless he wasn't human..and if that was the case how come he know of her existence before she was conceived. Looking up at the dark haired man she frowned in confusion,"I don't understand..."

The man smiled," Of course you wouldn't. Silly girl,"He chuckled and walked towards her. He stopped directly in front of her," I am afraid I must explain everything to you in full detail." He said studying her facial features, as if he couldn't believe she was alive and right in front of him."However, first I must introduce myself." He bowed at a perfect ninety degree angle with a dramatic flourish of his right hand while his left was tucked across his abdomen," I am Count Issa Shuzen. Head of the ancient Shuzen family, the first of my name, sole survivor the Shuzen blood line and the last of the Demonic species."

"Issa Shuzen...." Ekaterina whispered to herself as she tried to see how the name would sound rolling off her tongue.

"At your service my lady." Issa smirked as he grabbed her hand and placed a kiss upon her knuckles.

"Issa may you please tell me that which I do not know?" Ekaterina asked as she stared in to his eyes. She found his eyes to be mesmerizing. She has never seen an other person other than her family members with red eyes like her. However she noticed that Issa's eyes were a dark crimson wine color with black swirling around his irises. Almost as if in a trance she slowly placed her hand on his cheek, her eyes intently glued to his own,wonder and awe expressed in her soft ruby garnet eyes,"So beautiful.."

Issa's eyes widened,then had turned soft at the wonder seen within Ekaterina's gaze. He has waited millennium just to meet this woman. He always knew she would be remarkable, but seeing her face to face was truly an unforgettable experience. Issa put on a faux smirk and saucily winked at Ekaterina, making her scowl,"My my. If I knew it only took gazing within my eyes to win over your affections I would have done so long ago."

Ekaterina huffed,"Don't flatter yourself. I was just shocked that someone other than my family and I is in possession of red eyes."

Issa smirked flirtatiously," Oh my dear,we can change that."

Ekaterina blinked in confusion," I don't understand what you mean Issa."

Issa smirked and placed a hand on Ekaterina's cheek," So innocent..", he chuckled and gazed softly into her eyes," I will explain to you when you're older." Issa said mischievously.

Ekaterina glared at Issa," Moving on, can you please explain exactly what I have signed up for?"

Issa sighed," As I have previously stated before-my family, the Shuzen household were all eradicated from this world. Before the era of men there was the era of demons, fallen angels, and Nephilim. The Nephilim began to overthrow their predecessors-the demons and fallen angels, thus the world was brought forth in to war. The demons won, and the Nephilims and fallen angels were all killed off. There were only five demon families left-and another war started for dominance over the world. The Shuzen household prevailed, but like the other families we fell. I was the sole survivor of the entire skirmish..." Issa went silent as the memories of his past filled his mind.
