Spencer plugs in the amp and a harsh wail vibrates through the room. She leans out of the curtained area and sneaks a peek. Her smile is infectious, she's been sending out small waves of what might be called endorphins to the population of the school. She feels very much on edge. She's swapped out her C-leg, which is electronic, for her old basic leg that she can't short circuit. She's going to rock and Natalie Summers's is going to roll.
Daisy comes around the back, slips and easy arm around Spencer's shoulder and whispers into her ear. Rylee comes through the curtain and sees her there. The hot pang of jealousy sets in and she reminds herself that Spencer isn't interested in Daisy. She wishes she could reach out and strangle little miss Daisy. The girl who just blatantly announces she's gay like it isn't a big deal. Well, it isn't, it was when she first came out, but it doesn't bother her anymore. She's pissed that Spencer wants to piss off Natalie and that Daisy has her sights set on Spencer. Well, Daisy was in for a surprise.
"Are you sure about this?" asks Rylee for what feels like the fiftieth time. Daisy eases away from Spencer as quickly as she can. Spencer seems to pay no mind at all that Daisy had been touching her. Only a few months ago Spencer would never have let anyone touch her.
"Sure," says Spencer. "And really, I think a concert will be fun."
"You're the one who's never sung in front of anyone before," reminds Rylee.
"You don't think I can do this?" asks Spencer. She pulls the guitar over her shoulder and then pushes it around to her back. The strap cuts across her chest, Rylee notices that she's wearing the tightest fitting shirt she's ever seen Spencer wear before. She tries to cut the hot sexual desire that rides up into her.
"Babe you can do anything," says Rylee. She kisses Spencer; their lips meet for just an instant. "Fine, go piss off the head mistress, why don't you?"
"Yes ma'am!" says Spencer. She steps away from Rylee and snaps a sloppy salute. "Ready, Daiz?"
