Niall’s POV:
I choked on my own spit and words tumbled out of my mouth. I didn’t know I’d react that way. I thought I’d be right next to her on the couch in front of a fireplace, warming us as we celebrate in this moment with hugs and kisses, not over a phone call, but at least she does.
“Y-You do?” I asked once more. I heard her squeak out a ‘yes’ and I broke out into a smile. I can’t believe it. I really can’t. She remembers me. She actually does. I can’t believe it. I choked out a ‘really?’ I really couldn’t believe it, she does, she really does.
“Yeah, Ni Ni,” Amanda said, “I do remember you. But, just you. I remember the memories I have already remembered, like our first kiss and a few schooling memories, but it hit me like a wave. Everything about you, and us came rushing back to me.”
I leaned forward on the couch I was sitting on in the hotel room and let out a breath of air. I really couldn’t believe it. Amanda Light, the girl I love, remembers me. I have to go see her. She is in Connecticut, I’m in France. That’s not that long of a flight. I could go, celebrate with her, then leave the next day because we are still on tour.
“I got to go and see you Amanda. I have to. I’m going to. I’m leaving right now. I don’t care how much it costs princess, I’m coming to see you.” I said, getting up and going towards the front door of the hotel room, grabbing a coat. France is cold, I need a jacket.
“No, Ni Ni, you really don’t. We’ll see each other soon, when you are in America.” Amanda said. I shook my head and told her that no matter what she would say I was going. No one can. Amanda remembers me, our relationship. We could repatch our relationship, I could take her anywhere to help her regain her memory and she won’t think of me as a stranger.
“I’ll be there soon princess. I love you.” I said, and just before I hung up, I heard her say that she loves me, too. After four months, I can finally hear that again. And it will be more special once I’m standing in front of her, hugging her, I can kiss her and hold her in the night again.
I opened up the door to the hotel room and just as I took one step forward I heard Louis say behind me, “Where are you going Niall? You know Paul doesn’t want us leaving the hotel. We’d get mobbed, he says.” I slowly turned around and faced him.
“Oh, um, hey Lou. How are you, mate? Haven’t seen you in awhile.” I said, trying to avoid the question he had just asked. He crossed his arms and rose his eyebrows at me. He knew me too well. I know him too well. He isn’t going to let me go without an answer.
“Um, well, I may be going to you know, this place. It’s a small place. Don’t worry I’ll be back soon,” I said, shrugging it off. Louis kept staring at me with his arms crossed and his eyebrows raised. I sighed and said, “I’m going to Connecticut to see Amanda.”
He walked up to me and put a hand on my shoulder and said, “Good for you mate. You should go get your girl. She does have memory loss. I don’t even see why management put you back on tour. What are they doing down there?”
I laughed and said, “Yeah. I have no idea what they are doing, but someone is doing something right if we are where we are today.” Louis nodded and took his hand off my shoulder and laughed with me. I’m really glad he caught me because if it was Zayn, Liam, or Harry caught me, they would not encourage me to go like Louis is.
“Yeah, now, as we celebrate our management get on a plane and go down to Connecticut, yeah mate?” Louis said. I nodded and he pushed me out the door, nodding for me to go ahead. I sent him a smile and told him that he was the best and started walking towards the lift. I’m going to see Amanda. Finally.
