Chapter 8
Third Reincarnation
"Tracy," Drake's voice echoed in my head.
I sat hugging my head between my shoulders tightly tying to stop the pain.
Traces of blood stained my shirt and up my neck. I wasn't completely healed, and yet the physical pain was just a fraction of the mental pain overwhelming me.
My face was wet with tears, I kept hearing his call but he was nowhere to be found. I was back to that cursed forest, agitation was adding to my tears and my agony.
In the darkness of the forest I heard the flapping of wings, the first sign of life in this forest.
The first sign of life was ironically death, a crow. It was flying in a circle; it wasn't visible to my eye, but its caws allowed me to allocate it.
Someone died. I knew it. The knowledge burnt its way through my veins and to my heart. Her face was as clear as the sky of the town she died in.
I recalled her marshmallow soft hugs, her angelic smile, her melodious laugh, her short blonde hair, and her diamond gray eyes.
After hours of an endless flow of tears, I fell asleep with one thing in mind, one picture in my imagination. My step sister was dead, Selena Drake McColt was dead.

Princess Ethista's POV
"Ethista Dojain, I announce you princess of Ice Land," said a man in his sixties with a long white beard dressed in a royal red coat in slow motion announcing in a tone of suspense what, ironically, everyone knew he was going to announce.
I held back the urge to roll my eyes. I smiled making eye contact with every member of the royal families before me, as I was trained.
A maid dressed modest enough to fit the ceremony came to my right and slowly placed a shiny golden tiara on my black hair and the crowd grew into loud applause.
Juleen approached my front slowly and took me by the hand as we walked across the gigantic castle's gardens like models in the middle of their audience towards our home - the castle.

Tracy's POV.
I woke up panting. What a dream, an amazing one! It made me determined about what to wish next, but I promised myself not to imagine myself in another cursed life, so I refused to open my eyes to the darkness of the forest and allowed my brain to form more colourful pictures in my sleep.
I turned to my other side feeling like I was sleeping on soft, fluffy, cold pillows with my head digging into them endlessly. I was beyond tired, so again I fall asleep.

Princess Ethista's POV
"My congratulations daughter of my long gone husband, King Dojain, Princess Ethista," said Juleen, her eyes tearing in happiness.
"Thanks Juleen. I'll get ready for bed now, I don't feel like having dinner," I said
"But Sienna wouldn't eat without you"
"Tell her to eat and I promise to play with her tomorrow"
"As you wish, princess," Juleen said with a sigh as she closed the door and left.
I looked into the mirror, still dressed with what I wore at the ceremony.
It was ironic how I spent months being trained for this day, for these minutes.
I was wearing a long sleeveless bright white dress with its tail dragged on the floor. It was shining in the light, exposing only my collar bones, arms, and jaw bones which everyone considered the keys to my beauty.
My hair lied like a sheet of black linen on both sides of my face. My eyes had heavy black eyeliner and mascara with golden eye shadow.
Everything was made to match the one new thing, the golden tiara on my head.
I was finally allowed to be the princess that held responsibility of this place, Ice Land.

Tracy's POV
I blinked my eyes, trying to focus on what was happening around me. The girl in front of me imitated my every move.
"Who are you?" I asked
But a girl awaiting the answer a much as I am stared back at me.
I reached with my hand to touch her, but there was a sheet of glass separating us.
She was as tall as me, she looked about twenty. Her hair was a shade of blue-black. Her iris was pitch black in colour, her lips strawberry red, and her skin a peach tone.
It was then that I realized that the glass separating us was not just glass, it was a mirror, and the princess standing before me was me.
The past couple of what I thought were dreams turned to be just flashbacks informing me of my situation as this character my mind has created as I fell asleep in the dark forest. I am Princess Ethista in this reincarnation, I made believe of my fairy tale dreams.
I stroked my hair and brought a small fraction of it in front of my eyes, no golden curls, but ink black hair instead.
By the time I've turned to look behind me, a knock on my door sounded. I swallowed and tried to sound like any of the princess I've read about in fairy tales, "Step inside."
The door knob turned and a young blonde girl walked into my room. Something about her diamond eyes made her seem familiar; maybe she was from my past life.
"Selena!" I cried as I ran to hug her, nearly tripping.
"No, Sienna," she corrected, hugging me twice as tight.
