CHAPTER 4: First Reincarnation.

Narrator.

Hours passed but no sunlight broke through the darkness. She cried throughout the remembrance until she felt strong again. She had to know how she ended up here, and where she is. Is this reality? Is this another dream? Or is this the afterlife?

She did not know what to expect and that fact was disturbing her. Is Drake dead? Is Selena dead? She didn't know. How stupid of her, she left without knowing. Her inquisitive nature was kicking her conscience for what she has done.

But that wasn't what mattered now, she had to get up and figure out what's she doing in a dark forest.

Tracy's POV.

My few minutes or hours, depending on how slow the time drags on, I’ve spent here made me learn a few things.

This was no ordinary forest, you could sense its presence but you can’t touch it or see it. You know that it is night time from the darkness, but the never ending absence of light makes you doubt that the light was natural or by any means significant to something like time.

The fire that kept raging on inside my head with thoughts also forced me to walk around aimlessly, but the walk seemed productive when I stumbled into the leather diary my father gave me.

It was when I found that diary that my questions were answered, that I sensed that my old life is hunting me, that the sick concept of reality was coming again to aim at me, bow string pulled, with a wicked arrow.

My diary was tiny enough to fit in my pocket now but it seemed to get heavier with every passing moment, forcing me to be aware of its presence, to recall its contents.

Dear Tracy,

Ironic isn't it? Finally getting a reply, I mean.

Reincarnation is a religious belief that, when you die, you come back to life.

You can turn into an animal form, you can change into a different person you have always wanted to be, you can turn into a totally different person from your mind’s creation, and you can stay who you are but create from the depth of your imagination a life that suits your needs.

You are going through your reincarnation, which, if you ask me, is everything you've ever wanted - a real life.

You've got the chance to fix everything that drove you away from your life. You can return missing things into your life, alter whatever you disliked, and wish away whatever you hated. All you have to do is simply close your eyes and imagine, by the time they are open once again, you’ll have exactly what your mind demanded.

That's all for today, I guess.

Diary

"This has to be some joke," was my first thought.

I started pinching myself like I used to do in my old life, but it hurt like it always did.

I knew what reincarnation was, someone told me about it when I was young, but I can’t quite remember who. The idea of rebirth caught my attention back then for the same reason anything catches my attention, its irony. It’s like even after dying in a messed up life, God gives you another chance to screw up another.

In real life, running away from life’s sardonicism was categorized as suicide. Here, running away was ironically something I didn't believe in - I closed my eyes to imagine.

“Wake up, Angel," whispered a melodious voice into my right ear.

The figure shifted in the darkness and opened the curtains. Morning sunlight broke into the room blinding me, making me miss the face of the that that woke me up.

You know how sometimes you wake up feeling lost and confused? You forget where you are, when it is, and you just can't remember when it was that you actually fell asleep. That's how I felt, but the moment's dilemma never seemed to pass.

I sat on the bed which had a bright yellow sheet on it. The room was all made of dark brown wood with pink, orange, and green decorations – which were fluffy chairs, flowers, and artistic stickers- here and there making the place look like I was owned by a professional interior designer. I loved the room, it felt so perfect. The liveliness in it reminded me of Belle's room in Beauty and the Beast, especially that Belle's most recallable dress was this shade of yellow.

I got up and walked to one of the doors that led to my bathroom. I was greeted by a full length mirror holding the reflection of a young teenage girl that was supposed to be me.  My hair was tied in a messy ponytail that my golden curls seemed to sneak out from everywhere.  I was dressed in a short white nightgown which I usually don’t feel comfortable wearing since it exposes too much of my body. It was just that I've put a little weight lately and that fact drove me insane. But the girl before me had a slim figure and amazing childish beauty that shook hands with her wide hazel eyes.

"You look stunning," said the voice that woke me up. I turned around face to face with a woman I never saw before.

According to the calendar it was a Saturday - A weekend. But most confusing was the year. If I got the Math right, I am only thirteen. The woman in front of me had my golden hair but heavenly sapphire blue eyes. She was wearing black tights and an oversized purple jumper. She looked like she was in her early thirties. But something about her gave me the feeling that she was one of those beautiful women whose beauty is hidden behind life’s troubles.

It hit me out of the blue that it escaped my mouth before I noticed it did, "mom."
