Chapter Three

There was an awkward silence that broke through the air. I dragged myself up.

"W-what?" Dean asked. I shook my head. Shit, why did it have to happen like this?

"I-I'm your kid," I said shyly. He shook his head.

"I defiantly don't have a kid." I looked up at him. He didn't believe me. He didn't want me. I was always one to go to worst case scenario type person, but I now I felt that those thoughts were right.

"Dean," Sam warned.

"Come on Sam think. I used protection. I can't have a kid." I tried to keep my mouth shut, I really did, but my mouth had always overloaded my ass.

"Please just hear me out," my voice caught for a second and Dean looked straight at me. It wasn't soft, or nice. It was a glare.

"I don't know what your play is, but you are defiantly not mine. I don't have a kid. And if I did, she defiantly wouldn't be a Hunter. So get the hell out of here." I kept my face straight even though his words felt like someone had cut my heart in half. I dug the letter out of my pocket and slammed it onto the table. I grabbed my backpack and headed to the motel. I should've known finding him was too good to be true.

Dean's POV

Sam and I stayed in the silence after Samantha slammed the door shut. He then turned to me.

"What the hell Dean?!" I ignored him and picked up the letter. It was addressed to me. I quickly skimmed through it, and then my heart fluttered when I saw the name signed at the bottom.

Lanie Ives.

I closed my eyes. Dammit. She was my kid, and I literally just pushed her away.

*Thirteen Years Earlier*

"Okay so if you were a lesbian," I started and Lanie interrupted me with a laugh.

"You can't even propose that question." I gave a cheeky smile.

"You said anything goes in this game." She rolled her eyes but agreed. "Okay Madonna or Cher."

"Neither," she laughed.

"Oh come on pick."

"Fine P!nk." I laughed and took a sip of beer.

"My turn." She smiled deviously.

"I'm going to pay for the lesbian comment now aren't I?" She smiled her beautiful smile.

"Maybe. Okay if you had a dau-" She was cut off by my phone ringing.

"Sorry," I offered a sheepish smile. She shook her head.

"Answer it." I smiled and flipped open the phone.

"Dean?" Sammy said.

"Hey Sammy w-" I was cut off by my brother.

"It's Sam." I gave an exasperated sigh.

"Fine Sam," I exaggerated his name. "Whatcha need?"

"I'm umm need advice. About Jessica." I looked to Lanie who was looking at me.

"This is not a good time for that."

"But.."

"Call me tomorrow." I hung up even though he was giving words of protest. I smiled and sipped my beer. "Where were we?" She laughed.

"I take your brother doesn't like being called Sammy."

"Oh how could you tell," I teased. She gave a smile. "Your turn."

"Okay, if you were to have a daughter. What would you want to name her?" I squinted at her weird question and laughed.

"Hmmm... Kansas." I nodded. She gave me a weird look and bursted out laughing. "What?"

"That is the worst name I have ever heard." I rolled my eyes.

"What do you think?"

"I thought you would put something with Sam in it like Samantha." I thought for a second.

"I still like Kansas." She gave a teasing eye roll.

"Oh course you do."

"Well I don't think I would want a daughter." Something in her eyes reflected sadness. I thought nothing of it really though.

"Oh why not?" she asked with a false happiness.

"Because of my job. It's too dangerous." She nodded slowly. Then she looked at her watch.

"Well I better go. See you later babe." She came and kissed me on the lips softly. I smiled.

"Do this again Wednesday?" She turned around.

"I have work."

"Fine Thursday."

"That's Halloween."

"Then dress up." She laughed and nodded slowly.

Halloween

I waited in the bar for Lanie. I was also waiting for my dad. He was gone for longer than usual, and it was starting to worry me. Then the phone rang. It was Lanie. It sounded as if she had been crying.

"Dean... um... this isn't going to work out."

"What you got held back at work or something?" I asked.

"No Dean. I don't mean tonight. I mean us won't work out." My heart skipped a beat.

"Lanie, what do you mean? What's wrong?"

"I mean that this can't happen. Bye Dean."

"Wait Lanie," but it was too late. She had already hung up. I slowly lowered the phone from my face and got into the Impala. I drove off to where Sammy was.

*Present Day*

I sighed and covered my face in my hands.

"Sam. Go find the bones and burn them." I got my jacket and got up.

"Wait where are you going?" I looked at him because he knew perfectly well where I was going. "Do you even know where she is staying?"

"No, but I'll find out."

Samantha's POV

I got into the motel room and let out the tears I had been holding in. I had wasted five years of my life to find that asshole. Day came up to me reluctantly. She jumped on my knee. My temper flared.

"Go away!" I yelled. "I don't feel like dealing with you now!" She whimpered and ran under the bed with her tail between her leg. I laid on the bed and sobbed into my pillow for what felt like hours.

Then I heard a plop on the bed. I looked at Day who looked at me reluctantly. I smiled softly and sniffed.

"Hey girl. Sorry I yelled." She cuddled next to me and I petted her gently. I felt her soft fur. Then I heard a knock on the door.

"Room service," a voice called.

"Go away!" I called back. Then I heard the door open. "I said go away."

"Samantha," said a familiar voice. I flipped over to see Dean.
