Chapter Five
Samantha's POV
Dean led me to the Impala that was in the parking lot.
"Where's Sam?" I asked.
"He went go burn the bones of the overseer." I jumped into the backseat and Day followed me. I thought I saw him cringe when Day jumped in. I gave a smile smirk.
"What?" he asked when he saw me.
"Nothing." He rolled his eyes, but I saw him smile from the rearview mirror. Day jumped on my lap and I gave her a pet.
"Hey Samantha," he said and I looked up.
"Yeah?" I said.
"Back there. How did you know it was me? I mean before the gun thing..."
"You called me Sammy." He raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" I smiled a bit.
"That's one of the only stories I remember from my mom." There was an awkward pause.
"So Samantha what happened to your mom?" I stayed quiet for a bit.
"The only thing I remember is a fire... and well, you read the letter." He nodded slowly and kept his eyes on the road.
"I killed him." I heard Dean say. I looked at the rearview mirror, but he wasn't looking at me. "The demon that killed your mom. I killed him. He killed my mom too, and my dad." I looked down. Then the rest of the ride was in silence.
Sam was covered in dirt and sweat when we got to him. He was waiting for us. Dean stopped the car and Sam jumped in. He smiled when he saw me.
"All done. Nice to see you Samantha." I smiled.
"You too." Day let out an excited yip which made Sam turn. He sent a questioning look to Dean.
"Don't even start Sam," he groaned. Sam smirked.
"She's yours?" Sam asked me. I nodded. "May I?"
"Be my guest." He called her over and she climbed on his lap.
"What's her name?"
"Day." He smiled.
"Hey Day," he said. He petted her and she got on her back. He laughed and scratched her belly.
"I think we found Sam a new girlfriend," Dean teased. I smirked.
"Yeah whatever you say Dean," Sam rolled his eyes. I gave a laugh. "So where are we going to now?"
"I'm thinking the Batcave." I raised my eyebrow.
"What?" I asked.
"It's not the Batcave," Sam explained. "It's more like a hideout that was started by a secret organization that recorded almost everything about the supernatural and is basically angel and demon proof."
"So it's basically the Batcave," I said. Dean laughed.
Dean's POV
We were almost back to base. I looked at Samantha in the rearview mirror and saw that she had fallen asleep. I wanted to do the same. It was about to hit 1 A.M. and we both had a rough day. Her dog was curled on the floor on the backseat. I sighed.
"You okay?" Sam asked. I shook my head.
"I honestly don't know Sam. How am I supposed to protect her? She literally likes running to danger, and she's good at it." I sighed.
"Well she is your daughter." I rolled my eyes. We finally got to the base.
"Want me to wake her up?" Sam asked.
"No it's okay I got it. Get your girlfriend." He rolled his eyes but called Day out anyway.
I opened the back door and smiled gently. I unbuckled her quietly and picked her up. She moved a bit. "Shhh.." She stilled and I smiled softly. I carried her inside and into my room.
