Chapter Eight

Samantha's POV

Earlier....

I ran quickly. I had to get to Dean and Sam. I had a gut feeling they were in trouble, but I wasn't the best at those kind of things. I always thought the worst of a situation. I kept running until I got to the ramshackle building with play posters about to slid off the building. I pulled out my knife and silently entered the building.

"Dean?!" I whispered harshly.

"Well what is this?" A voice behind me said. I turned quickly. The person behind me was a woman in red robes. She had white paint on her face and black hair. "Another Hunter?"

"Where are they?" I hissed.

"Why would I say? I would be screwing myself beyond reason." Her haunting light blue eyes teased me as I gripped the knife tightly.

"Then you have to deal with me, which is worse," I growled. She laughed.

"You are but a child. There is nothing you can do that will hurt me."

I glared at her as I went to lunge. I landed on thin air as the image of the woman dissipated. I landed straight on my stomach and the air was knocked out of me. I got up quickly. I turned and then I felt something like a knife slid in between my ribs.

I don't know if I screamed. I think I did out of sheer surprise.

"Oh Hunters think they are so great, when actually they are just entertainment for the rest of us," she sneered as she twisted the knife. She pulled out the knife and I heard a gun shot. I clutched my stomach to try and stop the bleeding. I fell to my knees.

Air wasn't coming into my lungs. I looked up to see Dean.

"Daddy," I tried to gasp. He started to run towards me.

Dean's POV

I ran towards my daughter and dropped to my knees, catching her as she fell forwards. I looked down to her hand already covered in her blood. She gasped.

"No, hey look at me. It's not even that bad, just a flesh wound," I rushed and took off my jacket. I put it on the ground below her and laid her down. "Damn it Sammy, I told you to stay in the motel." She gave what sounded like a laugh.

"You should know that I don't listen," she choked out. I gave a weak smile.

"Shh... save your strength." I took her hand off the wound and my eyes widened. "Sam we need to get her to the hospital!" He nodded and ran to the car. I picked up Samantha and tried to keep a good hold on her wound.

I ran outside and the cold night wind hit me hard without my jacket. Samantha must have felt it too because she gasped.

"Hey it's okay," I said as I ran to the car and got in the back with her in my arms. I cradled her head and held onto the wound pumping out blood as tight as I could. Sam sped down the roads. I felt her start to go still. "No, no, no, no," I stuttered. "Not like this Sammy, keep those pretty gold eyes on me."

She whimpered and looked at me with those amber eyes filling with pain. "Daddy." She was getting paler, and blood matted down her hair.

"Sam drive faster!" I screamed.

"I can't drive any faster without getting into an accident! We are almost there!" I felt her hand on my chest and I looked down at her.

"It's going to be okay Samantha Kansas Winchester. Everything's going to be okay."

We ran into the hospital with Sammy hanging limply in my arms.

"Help please!" I yelled. "My daughter!"

I placed her on a gurney and watched as they wheeled her down the halls. I closed my eyes and clenched my fist. I was covered in her blood.

"Dean?" Sam asked.

"I'm fine," I mumbled and head to the bathroom to try and get her blood off of me.
