~ Lucy's POV ~
"There's no way that I can assist," I started as Niall handed me a mask and a pair of gloves.
"You should wash your hands," he said looking at me in all seriousness. "And tie your hair back. I'll guide you through every step."
"Don't you think Harry deserves someone who knows what they're doing?" I stammered back.
"I think Harry deserves the best possible care that he can get," Niall retorted, "And I think that after everything that has happened to him, and what he's done for you, the least you can do is try."
Well damn. He's got a point there.
"Alright," I finally agreed, "I'll give you a hand."
~ Niall's POV ~
I still don't understand what happened to Harry. One minute he's escaping from all the people at his flat, then next he's with a girl in her home, and now he's here. I feel so bad for him. All I can do at this point is try to help him.
"Okay Lucy," I start noticing that she has a mask and gloves on, "let's get started."
"I'm ready to go," she answers back.
She's got pretty eyes and I haven't noticed them before despite her being in the office multiple times.
"I need you to help suction some of the blood once I get started," I said handing her the suction tube. "Please be careful and try not to let any get to his throat. I am going to be placing a mouth block in so that Harry's mouth stays open."
"Okay," she says naturally grasping the suction and switching it on.
I begin to take a better look at the damage that has been done to Harry's teeth. There are a few chipped teeth which probably aren't going to be too hard to repair, but his top and bottom teeth look completely out of alignment and he's going to need some orthodontic work. Poor lad.
~ Lucy's POV ~
I, who knows relatively nothing about teeth, was shocked at the extent the Sam messed up Harry's teeth. It's not even that they were broken but all out of line, and his front jaw seemed to jet forward now.
I started suctioning the blood away at first as Niall threw in a few stitched to slow down the bleeding.
"What's the plan Niall?" I ask, seeing him take a quick pause.
"I'd say that we'd start by fixing up the chipped teeth," he said pointing to two of them, "this one here looks easiest, and then the one back here we can do as well."
"What about how all of his teeth are misaligned?" I added.
Niall paused for a minute.
"We'd have to wake Harry up and ask him what he wants to do- it's a lot more elective, and I can't just put braces on for him," Niall explains.
"Sounds like a plan," I say back to him.
Niall goes on to teach me how to use a few different basic tools- one that sprays water and air that I use at the same time as the suction.
My job is to keep the tooth that we're working on really dry as Niall is fixing it up using some sort of tooth composite material and then using a special lamp to set the tooth.
It's all really cool and everything, but I can't help but look at Harry and feel horrible. I know that she's short tempered, but I can't believe that Sam did this. This is basically criminal assault.
We finish on the last tooth and Niall asks me to rinse off Harry's teeth with water and the suction.
"He should be waking up any moment now," Niall says as we take our tools out of his mouth. "I just need you to prepare yourself because he is going to be in a lot of pain, and likely very angry about what happened. In fact, it may be best if you move away from where he can see you."
