"I still can't believe you got expelled for talking back to that stupid teacher." Tyler spoke, the sound of his voice resonating through the empty apartment. We were sprawled out on my bed eating nutella and to say that Tyler wasn't handling the expulsion very well would be an understatement.
How am I supposed to tell him about my encounter earlier on?
"Your brother isn't going to be very happy with this." Tyler stated blankly.
"I know I am not excited to tell him." I acknowledged, eating another spoon of heaven. Tyler turned towards me and his features softened.
"Aww, babe. Don't worry, I will make sure that nothing happens to you." He comforted.
I scoffed.
"Thanks T" I hugged him breathing in in his minty scent that lingered on his shirt. Pulling back I prepared myself to tell him the other half of the story. To say that I was worried would be the understatement of the year. I mean look how he handled that.
"Tyler before I start telling you the rest of the story..." I started with a deep breath.
"There's more!" He interrupted
"Yes, and don't interrupt me. You know how much I hate that." I dared him to challenge me. He mumbled a sorry cleary understanding.
"Promise not to get mad?" I spoke. I received a weary look and then a nod.
"Alright so after "the incident" happened, I decided that it was a good idea to just take a walk. I needed to clear my head anyway. I was about halfway through when I accidentally bumped into a man. I was about to apologise and just walk away when he grabbed my wrist." I spoke dreading the next sentence.
"He called me Aurora Jones" I broke down in front of tyler and watched as his face turned stone cold. That name holding a lot of meaning to him. His eyes widened.
Opening his arms he took me in his embrace once more. Repeating words of comfort and encouragement.
He suddenly got up off my bed and paced around the room as if contemplating whether to tell me something. His features turning cold once more and his knuckles turning a ghostly white. His hand reached up to his face and rubbed aggressively.
"Tyler what is it" I asked softly. He sighed heavily and met his brown eyes with mine. As if finally deciding that he should tell me he made his way over to me and grabbed my slim hands in his.
"You know I would do anything for you and that I will always be by your side, don't you?" He spoke quietly.
"Of course T, what is this about you are scaring me." I agreed.
"Baby, me and my family have to go out of town for a few days tomorrow. I won't be here for you if you need me and that scares me. I won't be able to protect you if anything happened." He paused his face full of distress.
I was so lucky to have a best friend that cared so much about me. He has always been there for me and to know that he gets stressed when he isn't here, tells me that he cares.
"Babe, don't worry. Everything is going to be okay. It's only a few days." I comforted, trying to convince him that everything was going to be okay.
"I just need to be able to sleep while I am out of town, knowing that you are safe and not alone." Tyler spoke soothingly.
"I am not alone, my brother will be here." I spoke quietly.
"Think about it, he is almost never here and when he is, he is.." He coughed "taking care of someone else" He spoke awkwardly.
I chuckled a little, easing the tension. Taking that as a good sign Tyler smiled back and stepped closer.
"Have someone over at all times. I don't mean to sound controlling but I want someone to be with you even when you are home." He demanded sternly.
"Okay T, for you" I stated.
He kissed my forehead and grabbed his keys making his way out the door.
"You can't stay?" I spoke disappointed.
"No, I need to start packing beautiful but I will call you when I get there. Be safe babe." He spoke unlocking the door and making his way out.
Sighing I laid back onto my bed. I knew Tyler was right, he was always right.
I couldn't take my chances again.
Feeling like I should really burn off some steam, I changed into some workout clothes and got ready to go to the gym in our apartment. Yes, we had a gym and I was very thankful for that.
Taking my keys, I walked out the door and made my way into the elevator. The gym was on the last floor which was only one level above me. There was the gym and the suite on the 9th level. Whoever owns the suite must be loaded.
The door dinged and I stepped out of the elevator and made my way to the gym. I spent most of my days working out and training. I loved the gym, it was like my safe heaven.
As I was going to walk into the gym a little girl with short brown hair ran straight into me. My tall figure towering over her small figure.
"I am so sorry" She shyly spoke while looking down to the floor.
"No that's okay sweetheart, who were you running from?" I asked her as I stared into her deep emerald eyes.
Her small hands reached mine. Her soft skin rubbing against my hands.
No fair, why do kids always have such soft skin!
"My brother is chasing me and I need to hide away from him" She giggled as she hid behind my legs gripping onto my black leggings. She is too adorable for her own good.
"Okay I will protect you from the big bad monster." I played along still watching her from behind me.
"What's your name?" She asked me sweetly.
"My name is Aurora but you my little one, can just call me A." I touched her small button nose.
"My name is emma." she said with a small lisp as she said her name.
"Emma" A husky voice came booming down the hallway. Her grip tightened on my leggings and her smile became wider.
"I swear when I find you, I am going to tickle you until you can't breathe" He spoke in an attempted british accent. She giggled. The sound echoing through the hallway.
"That always gets you little munchkin" He came around the corner and I stood frozen, with a little girl behind me giggling.
"Aurora" He spoke freezing in his position.
