Jaehyun tapped his fingers against the tables cool surface while watching Taeyong bring over two cappuccinos and lemon bread.
Taeyong was true to his word about knowing the cafe's owners. It was 3 hours past business hours and they had complete access to the cozy cafe for as long as they pleased.
"I hope I made it right." Taeyong smiled, shakily handing Jae the mug. The amount of nervousness his body held shown, but thankfully Jaehyun didn't comment on it.
Jae took a sip, his eyes shutting in pure bliss at the warm drink. He smiled and set it back down. "It's great."
Tae smiled gratefully. The two sat in silence while Taeyong racked his brain for the right words to start the long awaited discussion.
"I want to get right to the point with this Jaehyun. At any point feel free to stop me or even throw the coffee at me but I need to say this."
Jae sat back in his chair and crossed his arms over this chest. "I'm listening."
Taeyong let out a breath. "I'm sorry for blowing you off when I was focused on winning WinWin's heart. I was dumb to blow you off for someone who was never even interested in the first place."
"Damn right."
Taeyong chuckled. "After WinWin turned me down, I went to you. And yes, as a second option because I knew you still liked me. I'm so stupid for doing that to you."
Jaehyun couldn't hide the hurt expression on his face as he stared out the cafés window. If he even glanced at Taeyong, he himself didn't know if he would cry or throw the drink on him like he purposed.
"Jaehyun after a while my feelings became true. I started to fall for you but when I did I realized how much I truly damaged you. I hated myself for putting you through all that hurt and anger. I still hate myself."
A single tear slid down Jae's cheek. He refused to wipe it, hoping Taeyong was still looking down at his own hands rather than him.
"And with Doyoung... I needed him to help me win you back. The kiss, that was me venting out my anger. It was dumb but I did it and fully regret it."
"He's my best friend. That was such a low blow."
"I know. Jaehyun, what I'm saying-no what I'm promising you, right here and now, is that I will never put you through those situations ever again. Allow me to prove myself. Let me show you how much I truly love you."
Jaehyun slowly looked at Taeyong. His expression held so much pent up emotion Jae couldn't say no. Not after Taeyong did all of this.
"Tae, I want to trust your words which is why I'll give you a chance. Let's forget the past and focus on the present."
A sense of relief washed over Taeyong as he slumped in his chair, placing his hand of Jaehyun's.
"You don't know how happy I am to hear that. I'm not going to ask you out just yet, I want you to trust me again and when you do then we can advance in our relationship."
"Can I ask you something? And please be honest."
"Anything. I'll answer anything you want."
Jaehyun ripped a piece of the lemon bread and bit into it before narrowing his eyes. The built up anticipation made Taeyong shake his leg, the nervousness coming back.
"What the hell did you see in WinWin?"
Really Jae? What happened to forgetting the past?
"Well you see-"
