Cody and I stumbled into my house drenched and filled with laughter. I've never had that much fun with anyone in my life. The whole day we spent at the lake was amazing. We drank hot chocolate and believe or not had our own private screening thing that stuck inside the canoe so we could watch movies. I don't know how but Cody fell asleep. I guess he was trying to roll on his side when the boat flipped over leaving us drenched.

Which led to how we were soaking wet and smelling like dogs at my door.

"C-bear!" Max shouts racing towards Cody and embracing him in a hug despite how wet he is. How great of my brother to ignore my presence. I stick my younger out at him and place my car keys on the kitchen island.

"Hey Max, what have you been up to while we were gone?" Cody said ruffling Max's blonde hair.

I saw a blush creeping up on Max's cheek and I could tell it had something to do with Nikki. I was trying so hard to keep my laughter in.

"Oh you know..." He muttered staring down at his feet. "Played video games and hung out with Niks."

Niks. He has a nickname for her. This is just too damn cute.

"Where's mum and dad?" I asked.

"Upstairs sleeping."

"You should go to bed too Max." I wiggle my finger in his face. He catches it and squeezes it....real hard. "Ow! What the fuck Max?" I shout sucking on my finger.

"Language." Cody warns.

"Whatever." I roll my eyes. "I'm heading upstairs."

When I was halfway up the stairs I heard Cody say goodnight to Max and they exchanged a few words that I quite couldn't hear but I did hear the word 'like' and 'Nikki'. That's definitely something. I chuckle to myself as I make my way down the empty corridor.

I still need to change out of these clothes before I start to smell. I push the door open to my room but all it makes is this banging clattering sound.

"Ah shit, my head."

There better not be a burglar in my house or I'll flip.

I flick the light switch on, only to reveal Justin laying on my floor clutching his head.

"Oh my god! Justin what are you doing here." I kneel beside him and place his head on my lap. He shakes his head and stands up so I do too.

"Uh I came to apologize." He mumbles.

I shrug. "You should apologize to Cody, not me."

"Well I can't do that can I? He's not here."

"Yeah I am." A voice, Cody, creeps up from behind me.

"Oh, hey man." Justin coughs scratching the back of his neck.

"Hey."

"Uh I came to say I'm sorry for the way I acted the other day. It wasn't cool, what I did."

"It's okay." Cody nods. "Things happen, people change."

"Yeah." Justin nods and then turns to me. "I'm sorry if I upset you too Bailey."

"It's fine." I give him an encouraging smile. Although I know it's really not fine, I can't get over what he did. I'd be fine with it if it was any other girl. But Jessica...that's just low. "Just keep that bitch away from me."

"She's not that bad..." Justin sighs.

"Get out." I seethe pointing towards the door.

With one long stride he's across the room. He places a quick kiss on my cheek and mumbles 'I'll text you later' before leaving me and Cody stunned.

"Well..." Cody sighed flopping on my bed. "That was interesting."

"Would you ever kiss your best friend?" I asked Cody who was laying on my bed and out of his wet clothes. Don't worry he's not naked...he borrowed clothes from my dad.

"As in kiss Justin or kiss you?" He asked confused.

"A friend or best friend in general."

"Well you guys are my only best friends, so what?"

"You either kiss me or kiss Justin." I smirk sitting on the bed.

"Obviously I'd kiss you." He frowned. "I'm not gay."

"Kissing you would be like kissing my brother." I laughed.

"No it wouldn't."

I frowned, what the hell is that supposed to mean? "What to you mean?"

"Nothing, look I'd love to stay but I have to look for my mom now." And with that he left without looking back.

What's up with him? I didn't do anything and all of a sudden he's in a mood. The earth would be a dangerous place if God gave guys periods.

I sighed flopping back on my bed. I rolled over on my side to pick up my phone only to find a few messages from Justin.

Ditching Jessica cause you're more important. X

Followed by another text...

Sorry too if I've been a jerk to Cody, things have just...changed. We're not the people we were before but I'll try because I know how much he means to you :) X.

I switched off my phone and placed it on my desk. Turning on my side I switched off the lights in my room and let the darkness envelope me into deep sleep.
