"Nathan?" I asked in confusion as I stared at him. "Ugh, what do you want?" Realization dawned upon me and a scowl etched its way on to my face.
He smirked at me and then started to speak. "So, you know my girlfriend, well now ex girlfriend, Chelsea?"
I shook my head no.
I'm not really into school drama, therefore I don't pay much attention to it.
"What?! How can you not know about Chelsea. The whole school knows!" His strained voice of surprise bounced off of the walls in shock as he gave me a look which questioned my sanity.
I shrugged. "You nerds really do live in some pit." He mumbled under his breath.
"Hey!" I whined as I lightly slapped his shoulder.
"Ow!" He whined over dramatically as he held the spot I hit jokingly.
"Drama Queen." I muttered as I rolled my eyes.
"Anyways, so me and Chelsea, we dated since freshman year. Emphasis on freshman." He said as he stared at me.
"Yes I think I already got that, go on." I murmured as I dismissively waved him off with my hand.
He rolled his eyes and continued, "So three full years. I guess I did start to grow actual feelings for her, beside the feelings towards the pleasures she gave me in bed." He smirked as I squirmed awkwardly.
"Yeah I don't think I care much about that, don't continue on that path of the story." I said as I held up my hands and made a face of disgust.
He provided me with one of his eye rolls.
"Well. The feeling was a mere crush probably. Nothing too strong. She cheated on me last week." He said as he looked down.
He looked back up and sadness was evident in his brown irises. I couldn't help but to relate to that. I know how he feels, I've been through that.
Without a second thought, I wrapped my arms around his torso. He became rigid and stood there shocked. I was starting to regret hugging him until he wrapped his arms around me as well.
"You been through the same?" He asked in a knowing tone. I slowly nodded, surprised at how good he was at reading people.
"Remember Evan Soyer?" I broke the silence after a while. "Yeah, the guy who moved away in sophomore year because some girl beat up him." A deep chuckle left his mouth.
I could feel the vibrations throughout his chest as my head rested on it.
"Yeah. He cheated on me with Grace Lee. My best friend, or should I say ex best friend. She ended up transferring and as for Evan, let's just say that I was the girl who beat him up."
Nathan pulled away from the long hug, or whatever it was called, and looked down at me with wide eyes. "You, a nerd, beat up Evan?" He said with shock.
I slowly nodded my head.
Was it that hard to believe?
"Wasn't he like, a black belt in karate and the quarter back?" I thought for a second and then nodded again.
"Dang." He said as his mouth gaped like a fish.
"I mean, it's not like he hit me back. He was a jerk, but he wouldn't hit girls." I said as I shrugged.
"Jade. Earth to Jade. That guy weighed like 180 pounds. You're like, I don't know, possibly 100. He was built and you've got these scrawny arms." He said as his eyes went from my arms back to my face.
"So?" I said as I crossed my arms over my chest.
"So? You flipped that guy, you punched him, you broke his nose let's not forget to mention he left with a broken le-" I cut him off.
"And fractured his left nut." I said with a proud smile.
He took a step back as his face scrunched up and looked at me with a look of horror. "You're evil."
I nodded my head.
"So, back to what I was saying. She cheated on me last week. Don't forget that it was with my own brother. I broke up with her in front of the entire school, she kept texting me and calling me and trying to reach me to apologize." He said with a bored roll of his eyes as he summed up the story.
I nodded.
"I want you to be my fake girlfriend. I'm gonna tell you the details after school. Met me at Denny's." He said as he looked at me waiting for an answer.
"I have detention. Since a certain somebody decided to make me late." I said shaking my head.
He shrugged and said "Oops?" I glared at him and then out of nowhere he pulled me into a hug.
I awkwardly hugged him back. "Um." I said trying to break the awkward tension. Maybe it was just me that felt this awkward when given hugs.
"Be there at 3." With that he left the janitors closet. I stood there shocked for a couple of moments until the bell rung.
I quickly rushed to my next class hoping that I won't get yet another detention for my tardiness.
