Emma knocked on the door. She had her dagger ready and she was eager. She was always eager to fight monsters, but even more eager to see J. He was so perfect it just stunned her and she couldn't fully look into his eyes. J opened the door and Emma was lost in her own world.

J frowned. "You OK Em?" He asked Emma as he motioned her to come in. She shook it off and nodded.

"I don't want to come in, uh, do you want to go monster hunting? Hear there's some good one's not too far from here." Emma said.

J smiled. "Of course, let me get my machete. I'll meet you by the garage."

The door closed and Emma walked over to the garage and waited. She always wished that J would come ask her to go monster hunting, or maybe anywhere else. Emma had always liked J for more than just a friend and she was too afraid to ask him to be more. She knew that J only liked her as a friend and that's how it would stay.

The garage opened and J came out stretching his arms. "I really took a beating last time we went against those crawlers." J said.

Emma laughed. "It was kind of funny."

J scowled at her. "Yeah I sure was laughing." He said sarcastically. They started to walk into the forest. They walked for 5 minutes. They took in the surroundings as they walked and Emma kept coming back to J. She tried to stop staring at him but she couldn't. Then J caught her staring.

 "Need something?" J asked.

Emma's face turned red. "Actually...yes." She mumbled.

J sat down on a stump. "Alright then, go on." Emma cleared her throat. A huge flock of butterflies swarmed in Emma's stomach.

"J...we've been friends forever. Fighting monsters. You know...but I was wondering...I was wondering..." Emma got cut off by the sounds of monsters in the distance.

" Can you hold your thought Em? We got some monsters to take care of."
