Ash's POV:
I've been staying in the mental hospital for about a month now. Kai and the hosts have all been so kind to me throughout this whole thing. They frequently visit when they can, and they try their hardest to encourage me. As for recovery, I'm still having a difficult time. However, I am progressing, and that's all that matters. I can eat more now without throwing up, and I can sleep as well. Sometimes, I have nightmare's about the night that my family died, but the nurses are really helpful and comfort me when I need it.
I sit on the hospital bed swinging my feet back and forth as I wait for the nurse to bring me my daily medication. Itou-san, the nurse that usually helps me, walks in and sets down a tray that holds a glass of water and a container of pills. She handed me the medicine and the water.
"Your brother and your friends are here to see you, Ash," Itou-san says with a smile as I take the medicine.
I jump up from the bed and quickly hand the glass to the nurse. "Really? Where are they?"
Itou-san laughs, "They're in the lobby waiting for you."
I run out of the room and make my way through the familiar halls. Once I arrive in the lobby, I see Kai and the hosts sitting in the cheap, uncomfortable seats. I run towards them and pull Kai into a hug. He chuckles and hugs me back.
After releasing the long embrace, I flash a small glare at Kai. "Where have you been? You haven't visited in forever!" I accused.
Kai looks at me with a countenance of apology and guilt. "I'm really sorry, Ash. I've just been so busy with school and the club!"
I understand what he means, but I'm still upset. I'm stuck in this hospital by myself with nothing to do. I look at my feet and mutter quietly, "I've been lonely."
Kai sighs sorrowfully and pulls me into another hug. I wrap my arms around him and burrow my head into his shoulder. "I'm sorry," he whispers, nearly inaudible.
3rd Person POV:
Meanwhile, the host club watches the scene with compassion. They have become very fond of the two new members, and they have also missed Ash. However, they don't want to interrupt the beautiful moment between the brothers.
Kyoya, feeling a bit impatient (and honestly a bit restless), clears his throat, and disrupts the two boys. They step back and a wide grin reaches Ash's face which catches the hosts by surprise. They have never seen him smile like that, and it was heartwarming for them. Kyoya in particular feels his heartbeat suddenly increase in speed, leaving him to wonder if he is getting sick.
"Sorry, everyone! It's great to see you too," Ash says and tilts his head slightly to the side.
"My son is so adorable!" Tamaki exclaims and engulfs Ash in a crushing hug. Mori, seeing Ash's sudden panic, lifts him from Tamaki's grasp and sets him back on the ground. Ash sends Mori a brief, thankful look, and he bluntly nods in return.
The group moves to the seats and they talk for close to an hour, before a voice on the intercom states that visiting hours are over. Ash hugs everybody and heads back to his assigned room. However, as the host club is leaving, a nurse asks to talk to Kyoya and Kai.
Kyoya's POV:
Kai and I are led into a small office by a short woman with red hair and thick glasses. She offers the chairs to us and sits across from both of us.
"Hello, I am Alotri-san's nurse, Itou-San. As you have probably already guessed, I am here to speak about Ash."
Both of us nod our heads, coaxing the woman to continue. I wipe my sweaty palms on my pants, hoping that my nervousness is not visible on my face.
"We are planning for his release date to occur one week from today. He has improved tremendously in only a month, and we believe that it can only be good news from here. We have his release form and a list of prescribed medication that we need signed by his guardians."
Itou-san hands me the papers which I accept and nod politely. As I look over the papers, she continues.
"We also need someone to be with him at all times, and never leave him in a room alone. Inform us if he has a panic attack or a severe night terror."
"Yes, ma'am," Kai answers. "I will make sure that I'm with him."
"Thank you. I hope to see you tomorrow with the papers signed. Have a wonderful day."
Kai and I stand up and bow to Itou-san. We leave the room with a collective, joyful attitude. Ash can finally come home.
