Author’s Note: I think I’ve used the word jerk too many times in this chapter and something important happens in this chapter.

Connor’s P.O.V.

Some random guy with blonde hair and blue eyes walked in and said to Kaitlyn, “I didn’t realize you would be taking this class again.” He sounds arrogant.

“Really, really? I can still play guitar better than you can play bass,” she replied.

WHO IS THIS GUY????

“Oh, this is Devin,” she told me. I just nodded, how did she realize that I had no clue who he is?

“I’m not too sure about that,” Devin responded, taking a seat next to Kaityn’s.

“That your name is Devin?” she mocked.

“No, that you are better at guitar than I am at bass,” he answered.

“Oh, that, I’m still better at it!” she replied.

I can see why they broke up.

“Only because you are taking guitar in school, I can’t take bass in school,” he replied.

“That is not true and you know it,” she replied.

“Lies,” he exclaimed.

“Really, so do you honestly think we are better off with other people?” she wondered.

“Yes. I do,” he reacted.

“So there isn’t another reason you broke up with me?” she probed.

“Does that really matter?” he tested.

“Ya, it does,” she countered.

“No, and who is he?” he inquired, while pointing at me with a look of disgust in his eyes.

“Connor,” I replied.

“And Connor would be?” he asked.

“Uhh, me, I just told you that,” I replied, getting annoyed with him.

“No, I realize this, describe yourself, Connor, tell me about yourself,” he responded.

“Do I have too?” I asked, really not wanting to talk to this jerk.

“Yes, you do,” he replied.

“Ignore him,” Kaitlyn stated.

“Why would anyone ignore me?” he asked, sounding shocked that someone would say that.

“Because. You.  Are. A. Jerk.” she responded, with extra emphasis on the word jerk.

“Why are you calling me a jerk?” he asked.

“Cause you are one,” I stated the obvious.

“I am not! And who are you to call me a jerk, you don’t even know me!” he answered.

“But, I can already tell you are a jerk,” I replied.

“I am not!” he shrieked.

“Yes, you are,” Kaitlyn uttered as if she never liked him.

It went on like this for the rest of class because our teacher thought that we should get to know each other on the first day of school.

Kaitlyn’s P.O.V.

When the bell rang at the end of the day, I am so happy, then I remember that my mom was going to be mad at me cause I didn’t make any friends with “good” people. Good as in prep, who are really horrible people.
