One: Divine

"Enjolras, you're simply divine. You know that, don't you?" Grantaire faced his boyfriend Enjolras with an easy grin. All the amis had left for the night, leaving only the two. They were seated at a table, letting the quiet night wash over them.

"Oh, you think so?" Enjolras returned the smile.

"Absolutely. Your looks, your charm, your existence. Simply divine. After all, you are my god, Apollo."

Enjolras lay his head on the table, mass of blond curls framing his head like a halo. He looked up at Grantaire.

"What does that make you then?"

"Your poet, the man who would follow you to the end of the earth." Grantaire spoke honestly, and his eyes shone with an intensity Enjolras rarely saw but was beginning to more and more.

"R, nothing lasts forever. You know that."

"I'm willing to try. You should know that." He sighed, reaching across the table to grasp Enjolras' hand. He kissed it gently, meeting his boyfriend's eyes.
"I love you, Enjolras. Try not to forget that."

Enjolras smiled. "I never will. After all," he said, standing up and stretching, "You are the only one who can put up with me ranting about something at three in the morning." He pulled Grantaire up, holding him close.

"True," Grantaire mumbled as he carded his fingers through Enjolras' hair, committing this moment to memory.

They stood there, the dim light reflecting only half of what they were, but failing to see all the emotions they shared. What Enjolras had yet to realise, and what Grantaire had known from the minute he saw the blond, was that they were soulmates. They were drawn to another in ways that were impossible to understand, and that was truly divine. After all, while night and day were as different as the two men, they also got to share one sky. Enjolras and Grantaire were no different.
