The Host Club decides to have an early meeting in the morning to discuss what to do about the physical exams that will be occurring in the afternoon. Haruhi had to speak with a teacher, so you head to the music room by yourself with thoughts of what the boys will come up with this time.

You walk in to find your friends standing in front of Tamaki as he looks to be in a deep daydream about something.

"He must be having a great daydream," Honey comments, speaking your thoughts.

"He's kind of creeping me out," Hikaru says.

"Envious, Hikaru?" Tamaki asks, springing from his chair. "This is all part of my strategy. While you've wasted time blinded by your jealousy, I foresee the outcome of this charade."

This should be good, you think with your arms crossed and leaning against the wall.

"This anime is obviously a romantic school comedy. Haruhi and I are the main characters, so that means we are love interests," Tamaki states.

"Yeah, then what are we?" The Twins question.

Tamaki whips around and points at the guys. "You boys, are the homosexual supporting cast."

"Tamaki, lay off," you say, making your presence known. "Why aren't you guys discussing how we will keep Haruhi's gender a secret?"

"Yeah, I don't think you get it, Boss," Kaoru says to Tamaki.

"If word gets out that Haruhi is really a girl, then she won't be able to be in the Host Club anymore," Honey reveals. "But, if Haruhi started wearing girls' clothes, I bet she'd be cuter than she is now."

"She dressed like a regular girl in middle school. She must have been pretty popular with the boys, right, (Y/N)?" Hikaru asks.

You stand at Kyoya's side. "Actually, yes. There was this one boy--"

Kyoya cuts you off. "According to my investigative reports, someone would declare their undying love to her at least once a month."

You reign in your anger like you usually do and let Tamaki have his moment of revelation at the mind-blowing information.

"Ah, I see, so the Boss wouldn't even be able to get close to her," Kaoru says matter-of-factly.

"But we'd be able to because we're in class together all day long," Hikaru taunts.

Finally, Haruhi enters the room and Tamaki is instantly invading her personal space.

"Don't worry, Haruhi. We're determined to keep your secret, no one will find out you're a girl during the physical exams, so please, promise you'll stay our beloved secret princess!"

You walk over and pull Tamaki away from her. "Give her some damn space. Go over what you think you're going to do or whatever."

Tamaki nods and rushes off to stand at a whiteboard with a black marker and draws the battle formation as you stand with Haruhi. You already know the real plan and you're appalled no one else has figured it out yet.

"I've got it," Haruhi suddenly announces. "You guys are worried, because if they find out I'm a girl, I can't be a host and therefore won't be able to pay my debt."

You sigh and decide to walk away from Haruhi as she calculates her debt aloud. You know how smart she is, but she's also incredibly oblivious.

"Are you ever going to tell her?" Kyoya asks, somehow randomly appearing at your side a couple of feet away from the others.

"I believe she can figure it out herself one day. It took me a while as well," you admit.

"You had doubts?" he questions.

"Of course. Why would the rich want to actively be friends with the poor? Don't get me wrong, I know you don't have interest in my friendship, but they do."

"Why is that?" Kyoya asks with a hint of genuine confusion.

"I know how you are, Kyoya. You use people to your advantage and I have nothing to offer." You shrug.

You don't care whatsoever what his motives are. You know he does not want someone like you as an actual friend because you're not of use to him beneficially. You two have too much passive-aggressive anger toward each other to have a stable friendship as you always compete with your intellectual standards.

"Do something! The subject doesn't appear to have any motivation!" The Twins demand of Tamaki.

"Are you saying that you hate being a host? That you hate this club!?" Tamaki shouts.

"To be honest, I'd have to say yes. I mean, you guys aren't bad, but if it gets out I'm a girl, there's nothing I can do, you know?" Haruhi chuckles.

"We have to find a way to motivate her," Kaoru says.

"Fancy tuna," you reply boredly.

The hosts all gasp in shock and realize just how correct you are, which is no surprise since you know her best.

"Oh, that's right. You didn't get to eat any yet," Tamaki says evily.

Haruhi looks at odds. "Come on, just because I'm poor and I've never had it doesn't mean I'm so much of a glutton that I would go on fooling people about my gender just to try some fancy tuna."

"Yes, you would," you respond.

The guys shout in victory and devise many different plans before the first bell sounds for class. You know Tamaki is going to do the creepy thing and follow Haruhi and The Twins to their class, so you're stuck walking with Kyoya.

"Why didn't you tell them you already have a perfect plan?" you ask.

"Whatever do you mean?" Kyoya replies innocently just as you had before.

"Well, Mr. Genius, I happen to know the doctors performing the physical exams are all from one of your family's hospitals, which you had to know. With that, you could easily request for Haruhi to have a private examination, which I know you already have, but for whatever reason, you're not telling the others," you say.

"Aren't you a smart one," Kyoya coos.

"Drop the nice-guy act, too. It's so annoying."

"Act?" he questions with that hint of curiosity.

You look into his eyes like you're seeing through his soul to show him that, after over a year of knowing him, you can clearly detect all the false smiles and words. That's how you know the friendship is false and Kyoya Ootori is a complete tool.

"You think you've got your facade so cleverly laid out that no one will see you struggle. Even Tamaki, your real best friend, barely sees all that darkness swirling behind your eyes. Whenever we speak, I can trace every hint of it overlapping with something else. I notice things, Kyoya, you shouldn't be surprised."

You turn and walk faster down the hallway because you wish Kyoya didn't look at you for so many months the way he did--as if you were so much lower than him because of your nonexistent wealth. Now, he doesn't seem to care at all unless you're making him money at the Host Club when you're playing piano. It truly does break your heart.
