You would never call yourself clingy whatsoever, but these past three days with Kyoya's absence has simply been boring. You have to, instead of doing completely unproductive activities or hardcore intellectual battles with Kyoya, clean rooms and serve guests while sometimes opting to play the piano.
"This has been so great being away from the guys," Haruhi says, clearing off a table.
"I've gotten so used to them that it feels like there's always something missing," you respond, your fingertips tapping against the keys of the piano.
"Or you miss your boyfriend."
You roll your eyes. "I do, but he's going to be here in four days anyway, then we get to spend the summer together with minimal worry."
"It's okay. You guys have been dating for, what, half a year? More? It's normal to hate being away from each other," Haruhi sympathizes.
"I don't know. He's barely texted me and hasn't called once since we last saw each other. I'm getting quadruple contact from Tamaki for some reason, but I'm not answering them," you inform, shifting your gaze to look out at the scenery beyond the window.
"There's probably a good reason for it. I have to hang out the sheets, see you later," she replies and walks off to the kitchen with the dirty dishes.
"There better be a good reason for not texting me all day," you grumble under your breath in order for the guests not to hear.
You watch the trees sway in the summer breeze and citizens walking on the streets as your fingers reflexively dabble on the keys to your memory's desires. Since you're not getting paid for working, you have to use your savings from the Host Club for the summer with Haruhi. You haven't had the opportunity yet to go into town and you hope you can go with Kyoya when he gets here.
Your hands slip on the keys when you spot a black car driving down the paved road in the distance; a car you would know anywhere. You jump up from the bench and dash through the dining room, then out the front door to descend the steps just as you witness the car parking and Kyoya step out. You run over and bring your hand back to only slap his arm.
"What the hell?" Kyoya says, befuddled.
"Why didn't you just say you were coming early? I was worried you weren't texting me because you were buried in work," you complain.
"It was supposed to be a nice surprise," he explains with a shake of his head, having expected a warmer welcome. "I was buried in work that I finished to get here faster, but I still have a lot to do before next term."
"I know," you reply and reach over to yank Kyoya down to your height for your lips to connect and his arms to wrap around your waist. "But I am glad you're here."
"Well, I wanted to arrive
before--"A loud noise drowns out what Kyoya is saying and you have a hunch about what it could be. Narrowing your eyes, you slowly turn your head to the noise and see a helicopter landing on the lawn where Haruhi is pinning up the sheets to dry.
"One some level, I'm concerned that I completely expected this to happen," you say.
"That's the Host Club for you," Kyoya responds.

"What dashing young men! These hunks must belong to you girls!" Misuzu exclaims excitedly.
"This one does," you say, gesturing to Kyoya beside you.
"Wonderful! You can all call me Misuzu," he says.
