'I know man, but now I feel terrible.' I groaned into my phone which was on speaker, as I drove further and further away from Liv's house.
'Just turn around now, and go tell her you're sorry.' Alex replied.
'It's too late, she probably hates me now.' I groaned.
'It's not too late, you dickhead.' Alex laughed, 'you only left her house 5 minutes ago.'
'I didn't even mean to snap at her like that, my mind.. it's.. it's.. just fucked.' I stuttered as I stopped at a traffic light.
'I know bro, it'll all fall into place. It's time for you to move on and it's okay to move on, El probably has.'
I felt a horrible feeling of guilt as Alex said the name.
'Who cares if she has? She wouldn't want me to.. not after what I've done.' I frowned.
'Cole!! How many times do I have to tell you?! Aaron set you up, he knew that if El saw you with that other chick, what's her name? Sian. That El would think you cheated.' Alex groaned, sounding frustrated.
'But I don't know if I cheated, Alex! Aaron spiked my drink, I can't remember anything from that night. All I remember is waking up with Sian and El walking into the room crying when she saw us.' I gulped as the memory entered my head.
'Cole, how many times do I have to tell you?! You even asked sian yourself, who remembered everything, and she said nothing happened, you just fell asleep in her bed after the party. That's it. This all happened over a year ago, you're allowed to move on. El isn't even in the country anymore, stop thinking about her. And if she didn't trust you enough when you told her you didn't cheat then she wasn't really a good girlfriend, was she?' Alex sighed.
'She was my girlfriend though.' I said, defensively. 'I had to just fuck it all up-'
'Cole, I don't get how many more times I have to tell you that you did nothing wrong.' Alex mumbled.
'I just.. really...i don't know to be honest.' I muttered as I sped down the street.
'I know, but you need to get into your head that she's gone and probably moved on, and that you're allowed to move on for good. You've been out with loads of girls since it's happened, tell me how Liv is different?' Alex asked.
'All those girls don't count, all I did was sleep with them. But only to try and take my mind off El and get rid of this guilt.' I started, feeling guilty. 'Liv is different..I feel something really... strong.. for Liv. I just feel like we click, but then I feel as though I shouldn't because of El-'
'Cole.. you haven't spoke to her for over a year, like I keep telling you.' Alex sighed.
'I know..' I muttered as I increased the speed of the car before I turned into McDonald's car park.
'Alex, I gotta go I'm meeting Trent at McDonald's, thanks bro.' I said quickly.
'Alright mate, speak to me later then, and stop thinking about El.' Alex replied before he hung up the phone.
_________
'I don't know if she likes me back though.' Trent frowned as he took a bite out of his burger.
'Liv said something about how Gee will be excited when you ask her out.' I replied as I slurped my milkshake.
'You told Liv?' Trent asked as he raised his eyebrow.
'Yeah,' I started, 'she won't tell Gee though, I trust her.'
Trent smirked slightly, 'Well, that's gotta be the only girl you've said you trust since El.'
I shook my head slightly, 'Don't even get me started.'
'Aye, did you hear Aaron in the changing rooms the other day?' Trent asked as he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
I rolled my eyes, 'Who didn't hear him? He couldn't of said it any louder. He's a sick twisted dickhead.'
'Watch your language please, there are little kids in here.' A women working at McDonald's said as she cleaned the table next to ours.
'I know, he got some nerve, cheating on her and then bad mouthing her, he's a right little prick.' Trent said loudly.
'If you don't stop swearing, I'm going to have to ask you to leave.' The women whispered loudly.
'Alright.' I looked at her bluntly before I looked back at Trent. 'I know, why do you think I yelled at him?'
'At least you put him in his place, for now anyway.' Trent said.
'Tell me about it.' I sighed.
