Mark's POV
We decided to check out the Storybook-land canal boats next. As we made our way over, music rang out from the nearby carousel. It made me feel happy and ignited a spark of childhood in my heart. Colourful flower beds lay before and around the entrance to the canal boats. The six of us walked through the entrance with the maker representatives waiting nearby since there wasn't much a queue to cut through this time. I ran my hand along the railings, smiling gleefully as the wood slid under my fingers. We climbed carefully into the canal boat and three of us sat down on each side. I sat in-between Jack and Ken with Felix, Matt and Ryan sitting on the opposite side.
Soon, the boat pulled away and began floating through the water. We approached a tunnel in the shape of a Whale's mouth and while we passed through I couldn't help but admire the detail inside. I squinted as the boat re-emerged into the light and pulled my cap down to shield my eyes. Once my eyes regained focus, I saw miniature houses laying on the grass. Some of them had tiny mailboxes outside, they were adorable.
"Look Mark, that house is plenty big enough for you", Matt taunted, pointing to one of the small houses. The rest of the group chuckled.
"Hey don't make fun how small I am. I can't help being four foot nine", I joked.
"Don't worry. It's not the size that counts, Mark", Jack said with a wink.
"O-ho calm down Jack", Ken grinned, digging an elbow in his side. I shook my head and smiled.
The canal boat continued and we passed many different scenes in miniature form. We floated underneath rose covered arches. Rays of sun were beaming through the branches and foliage causing dappled light to spread across the boat. It was so pretty. I found myself looking over at Jack, he was smiling as always and staring up at the arches. He returned my gaze and his ocean blue eyes glistened in the sunlight. He sighed and for some reason I mimicked his action. Suddenly, a small flash of pink passed my vision and fell to the floor of the boat. I glanced down and saw it was a rose that had fallen from one of the arches. I reached down to grab it and as I did so I felt a hand touch my own. Jack must have seen the flower too and went to pick it up. He instantly retracted his hand and muttered a nervous apology, rubbing the back of his neck. I proceeded to pick up the rose and I studied it for a moment, appreciating every beautiful shade of pink. "Jack, hold still a sec", I whispered. Then, I gently moved a few strands of green hair that lay on the side of his head and placed the rose in his hair. He leaned over slightly and looked at his reflection in the water.
"I'm so pretty!", the Irishman cried, pretending to be emotional. I giggled at his reaction.
He whipped around to face Felix on the opposite side of the boat.
"Oh Felix, look who's fabulousss", Jack said, placing his hands under his chin. Felix directed his attention to Jack and noticed the rose in his hair.
"Wait. No... nooo. There can only be one fabulous being on this boat", Felix asserted in a dramatic tone.
Felix looked to the floor of the boat, noticed there were two more fallen roses. He snatched them and harshly placed the flowers in his hair on each side of his head.
"You can't be more fabulous than me", Felix stated sternly while flashing a smile.
All of us laughed and I rolled my eyes at their antics.
Once the boat had passed under the arches we entered another tunnel. There were small figures of the treasures in Aladdin's cave. They sat on cut away ledges in the walls and were lit up by dim lamps. As we drifted out the tunnel's exit I could see a train passing on the nearby bridge. We came by an island-like part of the display and there were two ducks sitting there. When we passed them Jack reached out in an attempt to touch them, but they just waddled away from his hand. Shortly after he extended his arms, they began to flail. He was losing his balance and I was worried he was about to fall in the water. I grabbed Jack's shirt by the collar and pulled him back to his normal sitting position. I realized that I had perhaps pulled him a little closer to me than I should have, luckily he didn't seem to mind. Lastly, we passed by a really good restructure of the Arendelle town from Frozen. They even included the trading post log cabin on one the hills which was really cool.
The boat pulled up in the area it started, allowing us to get off. I was sat near the back so stood still and let everyone get off before me. After we re-entered the park the six of us decided we should get something to eat. Once again, Felix pulled out the map from his pocket and we looked to see what places to eat were nearby.
Hehe see that clever little title there? I know it's a canal boat but y'know... it still sails xD
