Mark's POV

Once Jack reached the bottom of the stairs, he briskly moved forward and placed his arms around my waist. I gazed deeply into his soft, ocean-blue eyes before covering them with a tie I had tucked away in my pocket.

"Mark, what are you doing?", Jack giggled as I tied up the material around his head.

"Do you trust me?", I whispered.

"Of course I do", he smiled, his eyes now completely covered.

I took his hands and kissed the back of them gently. I began to carefully guide him towards the front door, grabbing my car keys on the way. The car door was closed firmly after I made sure that Jack was comfortably sat in the passenger seat. I hopped in the driver's seat, started the car and quickly pulled off the driveway.

Soon we had arrived and I pulled into a space in the car park at the back of the building. I rushed around to open the passenger side door and once again took the blindfolded man's hands, helping him step out of the car. We walked around to the front of the building, hand in hand. Excitement bubbled inside me and I couldn't wait to show Jack where I had brought him. We grew closer to the front of the building where the entrance was illuminated with lights and neon signs. An inviting, warm glow flowed from the doors that stood beneath a golden awning. I gently tugged back Jack's hand and asked him to stop. Slowly, I removed the tie to reveal wide eyes as he focused on the sight in front of him. He took a short, sharp breath and covered his mouth. "No way! I've always wanted to come to this restaurant since my first time in LA!", The Irishman bounced excitedly. "It's almost impossible to get a reservation here. H-how did you do it at such short notice?", he questioned.

"It wasn't easy, I had a few favours to call. But it was worth it just seeing how happy it's made you", I gushed, making Jack simper.

The two of us entered and the wonderful smells of food and alcohol drifted in the atmosphere. We approached the desk where a smartly dressed man stood with a large book placed in front of him. "Reservation for Fischbach please", I said proudly to him. His eyes scanned down the page of the book and I saw him tick the box next to my name. We followed him to our seats which were upstairs, passing many tables on our way. It was very busy and every table in sight had someone seated there. That was, until we came to a small table near the window with two empty seats. Jack and I sat down, menus placed on the table in front of us. We ordered drinks and started browsing through the menu.

The night went on, we ate amazing food and shared much laughter together. It was perfect, but it wasn't to last...

I noticed a couple sitting at a nearby table, they were giggling and pointing at us. Jack saw them too but I urged him to ignore them. He turned to face me, wearing a sorrowful expression.

"I-I'm just going out to the balcony to get some air", he muttered, quickly pushing himself up and heading out to the balcony. I grew concerned and followed him.

As I stepped out onto the wooden decking I heard the sound of sniffles enacting from the far side. It was completely empty accept for Jack who was leaning on the edge of the balcony fencing. I hastily stood by his side to see he was crying.

"Jack what's wrong?", I asked him worriedly.

The green-haired man wiped his face with his hand and lifted his head up. His eyes were filled with sadness.

"I-I can't do this", he stammered.

My heart sank.

"I don't understand, what do you mean?", I said with a shaky breath.

"I'm scared Mark. I'm scared that the reactions of those people in there are going to be the same ones we get when we start to tell everyone about us. Look at what Ryan was about to say earlier, that we were acting weird. He thinks it's weird Mark. You're such an amazing person. Everything you've done for me, especially over these past few days has just been a dream. I've never felt about anyone the way I feel about you, it's clear now. That's why I can't do this, I don't want you to get hurt", Jack cried.

I shook my head and narrowed my eyes before grabbing his shoulders and pulling him around to face me.

"Jack please listen to me; I don't care what other people are going to think. All I know is I want to be with you. We have to fight for this. I'm not going to give up the happiness we've found and I know you really don't want to either. You said before I brought you here tonight that you trusted me. You need to trust me when I say we can do this", I reassured.

Relief filled me when Jack's distressed expression was replaced by a small smile. We fell into an embrace and I clutched onto him tightly, never wanting to let go. I suggested that we went back inside, finished our drinks and made our way home. As we ambled along the decking, I lightly punched the Irishman's shoulder and scolded him for scaring me. Both of us re-entered the building, replacing the star lit sky with the room lit by lamps and candlelight.
