When you see me I look like I have it all under control
When you see me I look like I'm a girl with a lot of goals
When you see me I look like someone who has a bright future a head of her
But if only you knew I had my doubts
If only you knew the fights I have with myself
If only you knew the weight I hold on my shoulder and the struggles I have with my inner self
If only you knew that the girl you stare at can't reach up to your standers
If only you knew the girl that she truly is
She's the girl that constantly worries
She's the girl that's really scared
She's the girl that puts herself down
She's the girl that feels unintelligent, like she doesn't belong with all these unique talents
That girl is me
A day in my shoes and you'll be great-ful to be you
You don't have to worry or go through what I do
And even if you do, you still can make it through
Unlike me, I stay where I am like I never learned how to move
I'm a negative person and I just don't think I can do it
Everyone around me tells me that all I have to do is believe and try my hardest
They don't understand that I do but I just can't cut it
I surround myself by all these wonderful people hoping I could soon catch on but no matter what I do, I'm left behind
I remember the first time I let myself down
It was back in 6th grade, boy did it hit me like running into a brick wall
Since then the stress just pilled up and basically devoured me
It became a routine and I don't quite know how to get out of
The quote, "The struggle is real" has never been so relatable.
