Morning. Levi woke up with unfamiliar warmth. The curtains of the window were open and the sun’s rays were shining on him. He usually didn’t leave the curtains open so he wondered why the curtains were open. He twisted and turned in his bed and found it hard to do so. Then he hits his chin on something hard.
“mmmm…” Levi’s eyes widen. He hit his chin on a orange haired head. Petra. She groggily opens her eyes and greets him. “Morning Levi…” She rubs her eyes and twists in bed. Even though she was barely awake, her voice still sounded so mellifluous and charming. She was impeccable and perfect. The sun’s rays hit her face in all the right places, making her appearance scintillating. Her looks were so pristine, Levi wanted to cherish this moment forever. She was so perfect. Levi stretches his hands out and around her, pulling her close into his body. Even though they were both around the same size, he was a bit taller and larger in build so her body fit just right into his. Her face was huddled into his chest as he kissed her hair on the top of her head. Levi slowly fell back asleep, comfortable in this position he wanted to stay in forever.
Levi woke up again. This time, the sun was shining brighter than ever since it was later in the day. The body that was next to him was no longer there. A sudden panic went over in Levi’s mind. Was that all a dream? He rushed downstairs after he put on his shirt and pants. Levi was extremely reticent as he tried to hold back his feelings and thoughts about Petra. Please still be here. PLEASE.
He makes his way downstairs and a sigh of relief escapes his mouth at he lands on the last step of the stairs.
“Morning, Levi!” Petra greets him in a sanguine tone. “I see you’re finally awake.” She giggles.
“Yep.” Levi walks over and puts his arms around Petra’s waist and his chin on her shoulder. “What’re you making there?”
“Breakfast.” She turns a bit to smile back at him. “I hope you like it. It’ll be done in a minute.” Levi pecks her on the cheek and goes to sit at the table while watching the figure in the kitchen cooking for him. For him. She was cooking for him. The thought made Levi giddy. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply and noticed that the smell wasn’t malodorous at all. It smelled delicious as if it were right in front of him. He opened his eyes. In front of him was a plate of pancake with syrup, whipped cream, strawberries neatly stacked and placed in an orderly fashion. It was cute and reflected the person who made them completely. Levi looks at the figure sitting across from him and smiles. She gave him a copious amount of food on his plate. The woman in front of him seemed so much more attractive.
“Well, I’m going to dig in.”
The headed outside to go on a date in the market. They didn’t dress in an ostentatious fashion; they only wore their uniform like the last time. Levi had a plan for today, and that was to get all of the things he wanted to do accomplished. He was left feeling very remorseful last time, and he wanted to make sure to never let that happen again by getting everything done.
“Oh hey! Captain!” A familiar elderly man beckoned Levi to come over.
“Hey. I came to get another ring.”
“I see you came alone again. Getting a ring for your girlfriend again?” The merchant wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.
He smiled at the merchant as he looked over the selection of rings. “Do you have any other ones? Like metal ones or gold, silver ones?” The merchant looked at Levi suspiciously before looking around and taking out a tray of metallic rings. They shined in the sunlight gracefully.
Levi’s attention was caught on one specific ring. One that was silver with an orange-pink stone in the middle.
“How much is this ring, sir?” The merchant waved his hand for Levi to come closer. He whispered the price in his ear.
“WHAT? THAT EXPENSIVE??” The price of the ring was extremely exorbitant. It was completely unreasonable and uncalled for. “Come on, ol’ man …” Levi gave his best puppy dog look and stared at the man.
The man sighed. “Fine … I’ll give it to you for less. But I want you to buy a couple of these other straw rings.”
“Deal!” Levi turned to go find Petra.
They were almost out of the marketplace when they bumped into a child.
“Owwie…” His eyes widen and he gasps, “THE WINGS OF FREEDOM!!” He squeals and jumps up and down in joy.
Levi leans down and picks up the little boy. “Yep these are the wings of freedom. People with the wings of freedom fight for humanity. Onii-san and Onee-san will protect you and fight for freedom.”
“YAY!!!” Levi spinned the child around as he squealed happily. Levi glanced at Petra and received a heartwarming smile. Levi thought he wanted kids one day. Petra would be a great mother and he would be a great father …
He put the child down and ruffled his hair. “See you later kid.”
“Bye Onii-chan!”
They continued walking and passed by a familiar alleyway.
“Remember this, Petra?”
Petra blushed furiously at the memory. “Y-Yeah..”
“Wanna do it aga-” Before he could finish his sentence he was smacked in the back. “Hey!”
A man who passed by turned around nervously and muttered, “Sorry” before he left quickly.
“I guess he thought I was yelling at him… What did you hit me for, Petra?”
“Stop being … embarrassing…” She looked down but couldn’t hide her flushed face. Levi chuckled and messed up her hair. “Come on. Let’s go. We have a place to be at.”
