Dipper's (POV)
We finally made it to a small apartment building near the edge of town. Wendy got out her house key and opened her apartment door.
"Well, here we are, home sweet home. It's not much, but it's something." Wendy said putting her key away. I take a look around her home. It was small, but it was cozy. There was slightly torn wall paper that covered the walls. Plus some paintings of mountains and trees. A green sofa and matching chairs. A coffee table in the center of the living room, plus a TV. And a small kitchen. I look to my right and saw a small book case filled with different kinds of books. There was a hall way near the kitchen, I assume that's where Wendy's room and bathroom is.
"Nice place you got here, Wendy." I smiled.
"Thanks, I know it's not much, but it's home." She smiled back.
"So where should we start looking first, Dipper?" Mabel asked me, putting her hands on her hips.
"I think we should look in Wendy's room first." Wendy was hesitated at first, but finally lead us to her room. When we got inside it was dark, and kinda scary. She actually sleeps in here? I turned on a near by lamp, and started to search through Wendy's things. I started on the right side of her room, and Mabel started on the left side of her room. I pushed back some clothes, and a lot of other junk. To be honest, the room was a mess. Clothes everywhere on the floor, dead flowers scattered around the floor, and crumbled up love notes everywhere. How can she sleep in a dark, messy, and not good to look at room? But I guess if you just sleep in it, there isn't much to look at at night.
I moved around some other junk, and came across a kind of chest. It was almost like a pirate treasure chest. I move more junk out of the way, and pull the chest out.
"Hey Mabel, take a look at this!" I call over to her. She turns to see me pulling a large chest out of the ocean of clothes and junk. She runs to my side and helps me pull it out. Finally about five minutes of pulling, we finally got the chest out.
"What do you think is inside, Dipper?"
"Don't know, but I got a good idea what it is." I then try to open it, only to notice that it had a lock on it.
"Ugh, of course! We need a key!" I said angry.
"Just ask Wendy for the key. She is helping us right now anyway." She shrugged. I nodded and went to find Wendy. I see her in the living room, reading a book on her couch. I tap on her shoulder, and spoke up.
"Hey Wendy, me and Mabel found a chest in your room. And we were wondering if you had the key on you?" She nodded and got up for her place on the couch. She walks past me, and picks up a key from the key rack by the door. I slap my head in stupidity.
"Ugh! I'm an idiot!" I shout out.
"Yes, yes you are." Wendy smirked. We both walk back to her room, and she kneels down on one knee. She turns the chest to face her, and messes around with the lock, key in hand.

The lock was off. She then opened the chest, and inside was just what I was expecting. Jewelry. Lots and lots of jewelry. Gold, sliver, jewel encrusted jewelry and more. The amount jewelry was overwhelming, it was like trying to stuff a whole bunch of junk in the closet at once, and hope the door wouldn't break. I turned to Wendy and she seemed to smile at the sight of her bounty. I clear my throat to get her attention. She turns to me and smiles sheepishly at me. I then noticed something on the roof of the chests door. It was a piece of paper taped to the roof of the chest. It looked like an address. I peal it off, and studied it.
"224th street?" I asked aloud. Wendy looked over my shoulder and saw the paper.
"Oh I know that address. That's the old mining factory down town. I used to go there to trade gems for money."
"Then maybe there's something there that can help us." I put the address in my pocket and leave Wendy's room. Mabel follows behind me, and then Wendy. We all leave her house and walk down the street.
"Okay Wendy, since you've been at the factory before, I'll let you lead the way." She nodded and leads us up the street. About ten minutes later, Wendy leads us up a dirt road to the old miner's factory. She opens the giant, metal door for us, and we walk in. Wendy closed the door behind us, making the whole place dark, with the only light source above us was moon light, leaking through the second story windows. Mabel walks away from us, and starts to look in dusty boxes.
"So, where should we look first, Wendy?" Is ask facing away form her.
"Not behind you, that's for sure." She said darkly.
"Wait wha..."

My eyes went wide when I heard that gun cock. I didn't dare turn around.
"Sorry to do this kid, but like I said. It's too late for me. And now, it's too late for you..." I felt hot tears down my face as Wendy stood behind me with a gun in hand...
