The day starts normal --with breakfast in the mornings, camp activities later, until you hear the sounds of clomping hooves. Chiron gallops through camp, screaming at everyone to prepare themselves for battle.
You scramble to grab your weapons and to arm your battle stations, wondering who the enemy is and why they're coming at you. The fight rages on endlessly for about a week. Every night, the army that attacked you retreats beyond the hills to rest for the night and the battle starts back up again the next day.
At the end of a week of endless battles, Chiron meets with the Oracle to see if there is a way to defeat the army that just won't seem to stop.
She tells him this prophecy:
Sixteen demigods shall try,
To retrieve the Amulet of Tyche,
Only one shall achieve this goal,
And all the others shall give their soul.
Three items the portal requests,
In order for you to be the Underworld's guests,
An apple from the tree of Hesperides,
For without these you shall not succeed,
A scale from a Hydra's hide,
In order for Charon to grant you a ride,
A feather from the tail of Hera's precious birds,
This shall be your key to the entrance of the Underworld.
To find the entrance that you seek,
Beware the bold but trust the meek,
You shall find the place to descend,
Where all of the sky meets its end.
Chiron then reads off sixteen names of the people who have been chosen to partake in this quest. Your name is among those chosen to descend into the pits of Tartarus and try to claim the amulet for themselves. While you know that you might die in this quest, you try to find solace in the fact that even with your death, the camp could be saved.
YOUR TASK:
-Describe the beginning of the war and how your character reacts.
-Describe Chiron's meeting with the campers, telling what the prophecy has said and the reading of the demigod's names.
-How does your character react to being chosen?
-Have fun and be creative!
-There is no entry length limit.
