Stella's POV

It's been two days since my father showed up at my house, and to be honest, I'm still pissed off with him. I've never thought he would all of a sudden come at my house and ask for money. I've also never thought he would be that cruel and heartless. I know that he absolutely couldn't be considered as a human-being because his doings towards my mother and I. He's more likely a demon in disguise.

And fortunately to me, my mother doesn't get any serious injury on her neck. I'm about to skip the school again today when my mother calmly says, "No Stella. You gotta go to school."

"Okay," I sigh for a moment before adding, "but you have to take care of yourself while I'm schooling. Promise?"

"Promise."

The bell rings throughout the school loudly, signaling all students that the school is finally over. I immediately gather my things up into my bag and make the way out of the class to my locker. After putting some of my books and stuffs into its locker, I close the door with its 'BAM' sound when I feel a pat on my shoulder.

Confused, I turn on my heels and my eyes immediately land on a boy, or a really cute boy, with bright brown hair, thick eyebrows, dark blue eyes, and well-shaped jaw staring at me adorably. I spontaneously jump backwards in surprise as my back hits the locker door behind me with a thump.

Instead of laughing or doing whatsoever at my embarrassing behavior like everyone would definitely do, he extends his hand towards me, waiting for me to shake it. I hesitantly greet his hand with mine as we shake hands for a few seconds.

"I'm Alex. A new student here," he introduces himself briefly as a smile comes upon his face afterwards. Oh God, why does his smile have to be that extremely cute? I've never seen someone this acutely cute yet gorgeous at the same time before, and seeing those two categories directly in front of my eyes gets me insecure in a matter of second. Why so? It's obviously because he's undeniably cute and I'm sadly not. He's immensely gorgeous and I'm miserably not. He's ―

"And you must be Stella, right?" he suddenly interrupts my rambling inside my head by speaking up with a raised eyebrow in a questioning way. For God sakes, I can't even raise an eyebrow without having myself look like an ass though.

But wait.. What did he say? Did he mention my name? How could he know my name? That must be impossible for him to know me because I'm actually supposed to be unnoticed by people. Not literally unnoticed though, because being bullied by Dave causing several people to notice me in a 'she's Dave's victim' kind of way.

"How did you know my name?" I frown, waiting patiently for the response. Some people who pass the hallway are frankly looking at us, while the others are secretly looking at us.

Instead, he just chuckles amusedly like I've just cracked a funny joke, which somehow causes me to frown my eyebrows even deeper than before in confusion. But I eventually choose to ignore the chuckle and ask, sounding a little bit sarcastically, "What do you want?"

He flashes me a grin before answering a statement I've never thought would ever slip out of his mouth, "You shouldn't have said like that to your senior."

"You.. what?" I gulp the lungs down my throat hardly. I really have no idea what to say. I'm completely at the loss of words. I can even feel my cheeks heat up in a matter of second at how embarrassing my previous words were.
