There's this kind of moment where I just want to take back the words that I've said. To roll back the time that has passed by. I don't know what totally happened to me, what made me agree to follow Alex. Going to Dave's party is never going to be a good thing, I'm pretty sure of it.

"Stella, what happened?" Sarah suddenly flicks her fingers in front of my face, snapping me out of my thoughts.

Surprised, I tilt my head to face her pretty face and respond calmly, "Nothing."

Nothing's okay actually. I can't even concentrate with classes after that breaktime moment and it just makes everything become more complicated. The more I want to hush those thoughts up and go on with life, the more I can't stop thinking about it. It's just hard to forget when it's already written perfectly in my head.

Sarah, on the other hand, looks at me with a concern expression for a while before saying, "Okay then." And trying to concentrate her thought on Mr Wilson's words. I'm pretty certain she's willing to hear my story, but I don't think I'm ready to tell about it right now.

She doesn't have to know, at least for now.

So, when the last bell that signals all students the school is over rings loudly, I can do nothing but really excited. I've never been this excited before when hearing the last bell, but this bell is like my salvation right now. I can't deal with Mr Wilson's explanation about logarithm and algebra and whatsoever. All I could think of when I was in his class was to get the hell out as soon as possible.

"Stella, wanna go home with me?" Sarah asks right when we've come out of the class. We've been good friends lately, and I'm glad she never judges me for who I am or for what I have. I'm really sick of people being racists nowadays.

"Sure, wait here." I leave her in front of the class for a moment and walk up to my locker to stuff my books. Opening the door hastily, I put my thick books that contain hundreds of pages into it and I'm about to close its door when I see a strange folded paper is put on the corner of the locker near the door, and I immediately pick it up with a deep frown.

How could someone open my locker door without me knowing it? I mean, that someone doesn't know where I put my key, so how come?

Curious, I quickly open the paper that threateningly says:

A nightmare is waiting you out there.

What the actual heck is this for God's sake?

Suddenly, I have a strong feeling it's from the same guy who kidnapped my mother a few days ago. I cringe by the thought of it, as I look around the hall and notice that I'm alone.

I immediately go back to where Sarah is waiting for me and fortunately, I still find her standing there with crossed arms.

"What takes you so long?" Sarah questions right when I've approached her.

"Err, you know, it's kind of hard to stuff my books to the locker since I have many books," I lie and put on an apologetic grin to her. I'm not sure if she'll believe me, but that's what I can spontaneously say right now.

"You sure that's just it?" she raises her eyebrow suspiciously.

No.

"Yeah," I force a crooked smile and start walking nervously, leaving her behind with her train of thoughts.
