Chapter 2: A Horrible Morning

I woke to the annoyingly familiar beeping that I once heard every morning when this was my bedroom. I lied comfortably on a fluffy cloud people call beds for a while before leaning over and dropping the palm of my hand onto the digital alarm clock beside the queen sized bed.

"No fat cats' laziness compares to the tirelessness I'm feeling right now," I mumbled to myself while sliding lazily off of the bed.

I really don't want to go to boring old school. Every single day is the exact same, I get up, get dressed for school, go to school and study my butt off, go home, eat, sleep and repeat, I thought as I slowly made my way to the private bathroom. While doing so, I briefly glanced at the door that I thought I had locked the night before.

I saw that it was unlocked and decided it would be best if I investigate that later. And so I kept walking until I reached the small unkept bathroom with one shower, one toilet, and one sink along with a gross moldy looking mirror. I picked up a crusty tube of toothpaste and struggled to squirt the unpleasant smelling sludge onto my 3 year old aqua blue toothbrush with frayed bristels.

I held the toothbrush up to my acne blotched face and gaged by the smell of it.

"I can probably go one day without brushing my teeth..." I muttered to myself while rinsing off the ancient tooth brush in a tacky gold rimmed faucet.

But then, I heard buzzing, coming from.. where? I peeked outside of the stench filled bathroom into the pee yellow colored bedroom. On the dresser was my phone with a solid green blue case. (because I'm so boring that way)

I definitely remember leaving my phone in my backpack by the front door to my house. I was pondering whether or not, if during the night, someone might have, snuck in?.. naa.. well.. probably. At least, I hope not.

I shuffled to the distressed wooden dresser. I picked up my phone and saw that there was a text message from Liam. (A friend of mine, well, actually, make that my only friend)
I slid my finger across my waterfall background on my phone to unlock it and tapped on the messaging icon.

Liam

Liam: sup

Me: Hello.

Liam: There's a math test today right

Me: WHAT?!!

Liam: I said is there a math test today and u do know that u can scroll through the txts if u didn't see the txt before, right?

Me: Yes, I know Liam. Plus, I'm not an idiot and didn't even study for the test!

Liam: oh....well I did

Me: WELL, GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Liam: and you're supposed to be the nerdy one....

Me: Shut up, I'll see you at school.

Liam: Wait!! I have to tell you something else!

Me: no.

I shut my phone off and chucked it onto the jumbled up blankets before he could finish whatever he wanted to say. I could hardly believe that I didn't remember the math test today! I'm usually the one who remembers the tests and he's the one who forgets!

I sighed and moped out of the ugly spare bedroom and into the dimly lit hallway. That's when I yelped in surprise as I saw something scurry across the oak floor from my bedroom into my sister's bedroom.

"Jeez! Stupid rat!" I whisper shouted to myself as I cautiously tip toed into my bedroom and locked the door but then realized, my old creaky door didn't lock.
"Oh..." I turned around and flicked on the light switch.
"Woah! What happened to my bedroom?!" I quietly panicked.

It looks like a tornado was set off and then a bunch of baby kittens had a party.

"Who..what... I swear my room was clean when I left.." I sighed as I trudged my way through a colorful heap of clothes trying to find a descent outfit.

I managed to find a long sleeved button up top with a red and black plaid pattern, a pair of black ripped jeans, along with a gold and silver angel wing wrap bracelet lying ontop of my sketchbook. I made a mental note to myself to remember to bring my sketchbook to school.

Otherwise I'd have nothing to do during recess, I mean, I can't just go and play and be active like other kids, cause, that just isn't me. I do get excercise, I'm just not a very competitive person.

Liam, on the other hand, is obsessed with being active. He loves soccer. He can't get enough of it. In my opinion, I don't see what's so great about it but I still go to his occasional soccer games or tournaments, just to support my best friend. It's normally quite warm, sense we live in Galveston, Texas, so I am usually miserable at games cause I literally get soaked in my own sweat.

It's disgusting, and even though I put my hair in a pony tail, it really does no good and speaking of pony tails, I need finish jabbering on about me being covered in sticky sweat, and put my hair up for school. Otherwise, if I just keep thinking to myself about random stuff, I'm going to end up being late and I do not want to be late for school on a Monday.

I swiftly made my way over to my platinum rimmed oval mirror nearly tripping over a conveniently placed soccer ball Liam had given me after he won his first tournament. Putting my dark chocolate brown hair up into a messy bun, not trying to be quiet anymore, I ran to the ugly spare bedroom and knapped my phone off of the messed up bed.

Turning back to jog to my room I heard rustling in my sister's bedroom. She must be getting ready for school too. I hastily knocked on my sister's hot pink door to make sure she was getting ready for school.

"I know Lilie! I'm getting ready!" She shouted angrily at me while I made a sharp turn into my ship wreck for a bedroom, snatching my sketch book off my dark blue messed up bed sheets, running out the door and down the stairs.

Once I reached the bottom I partly slipped while turning into the kitchen. I seized an apple from the large clay flower fruit bowl ontop of the island counter.

"Is your sister coming downstairs?" My mother asked me as Julia came skidding into the gray and white tiled kitchen.
"Does that answer your question?" I snapped at my mom while I rapidly searched for my boots. "Don't be rude or you'll be landing yourself in a major grounding," my mom retaliated and put her hands on her hips.

I slipped on my black combat boots and apologized profusely. I explained that I was stressed for a math test today.

"Well, that certainly is no excuse for being rude," my mom said as she turned around and cleaned the rest of the dishes.

I did not want to get grounded, especially sense I was going over to Liam's house tonight to help him practice for his game tomorrow.

"Hurry up girls you'll be late for school. The bus is already here," my mom urged us.

I popped the ruby red apple into my mouth while I stuffed my sketchbook and my phone into my henna designed backpack. I ran out the door, Julia by my side, just in time to get on the kid sweat smelling bus. I chucked my backpack on the leather seat. I sat down in my regular seat, all the way in the back, where no one could talk to me, and ate the rest of my apple as the ancient rusty yellow bus drove for what seemed like hours until I arrived at school.
